But after a howler against Newcastle (yes it wasn’t just his fault) he refuses to play Ramsdale.
Havertz was great vs Newcastle. Not at all the reason we failed to take any points there. He was combative and often direct, and frankly if he plays like that each match there would be less concerns over his signing. Today can be a good match for him to try and show himself well in another game and build some consistency. Let’s back him to help us!
Sorry, but for 60M, I expect a little more than “combative”. That describes a player we got for 10M from the Championship. For an attacking player to justify that kind of spend, we need goals and assists.

I think Ramsdale is done and dusted at Arsenal i’m afraid. There’s no reason for him not to play.
Arteta’s man management leaves a lot to be desired
On the other hand Arteta’s jumping up and down about VAR has distracted from the fact that Raya was badly at fault for Newcastle’s goal.
Just shocking. Regardless of if I’m a massive Ramsdale fan or not, it’s been poorly handled and dishonest. If he was true to his word Ramsdale would have been back in by now as Raya has been far from consistent.

It does look like Arteta is driving Ramsdale out of the club. How else to explain it? Raya hasn’t been good enough to justify starting every game.

A bit unfair. Eddie is essentially our back up striker with 5 goals in 11 PL games this season.
If you look at the other back up central strikers for the clubs currently around us in the league, you will see his goals/games ratio is actually quite good.
Alvarez (City) – 4 goals in 11 games (although he has a couple in the CL too).
Richarlson (Spuds) – 1 goal in 10 games (lol)
Gakpo (Liverpool) – 2 goals in 9 games (Liverpool don’t seem to really have a proper back up striker to Nunez, unless I forgot someone).
Don’t twist statistics and make excuses for him to prove a point. Eddie has played far more minutes than all of those examples. And before his hattrick he had 2 goals in 10, so similar tally as the above, on more minutes. I make that a worse output.
Secondly it’s now 19 games without an away goal and he doesn’t look like scoring one.
Halftime in this game and I think it’s fair to say we look twice as good a the team without him anywhere near it. I’d take Trossard over him every day of the week.

Looks like Arteta doesn’t rate Vieira as back up for Odegaard
Really want him to become our Bernardo Silva although he’s not even close atm.
so we now have our best striker, our back up striker, our best playmaker, our best DM from last season, our exciting new inverted wingback all out injured, as well as Saka being not 100% fit. Not ideal
Forgot about ESR too. We have a decent squad even City would struggle without Haaland, De Bruyne, Rodri, Foden and Josko Gvardiol out all at once.
I’ll just sigh & leave it at that ! Time to man up chaps Rice has shown you the way

Seriously, get Havertz off. It’s like we’re playing with 10.5 players and that’s saying something as he’s massive.
