Arsenal draw Watford Women in the FA Cup Fourth Round

Arsenal have been drawn at home to Watford in the 4th Round of the Women’s FA Cup. It will mark the first time the teams have met since the 2017 Conti Cup group stage when the Gunners defeated Watford 6-0 away from home.

Watford currently have three Academy players on loan from the Gunners in Katie Read, Laila Harbert and Michelle Agyemang (the latter has been recovering from a knee injury at Arsenal recently but is training again), as well as former Arsenal youth players Ellie Head, Sophie Harris, Flo Fyfe, Melis Mehmet and member of the 2006-07 quadruple winning squad Gemma Davison.

The tie will be played at Meadow Park on Sunday, 14 January and will be Arsenal’s first game back after the Christmas break. Arsenal play Tottenham in the Conti Cup at Meadow Park tomorrow evening, before facing the same opposition in the WSL at the Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday at 12noon before the winter break.

Fun Gunner

Nice tie.
Since it’s a dual registration situation of our Academy players rather than a loan arrangement, would they be free to play against us?

Chrishgooner

I hope so. The point of these dual registrations is to give our promising academy girls higher level experience. What an opportunity for Michelle, Katie and Laila to get that experience playing in a competitive game against currently the best team in the country.
