The 59,042 people that watched Arsenal beat Chelsea Women 4-1 at Emirates Stadium on Sunday marked yet another record WSL attendance for Arsenal. All of the top three WSL attendances have occurred at the Emirates and all in the last 18 months. If you count the match away at Spurs in November 2019, Arsenal have been involved in seven separate WSL record attendances since the league formed.
On top of this, 25,000 tickets have already been sold for the Gunners’ home match against Manchester United in February. Arsenal CEO Vinai Venkatesham said in a statement, “The support we’ve seen for our women’s team has been incredible, and is felt by everyone associated with our club.
“Breaking our own WSL attendance record is another landmark moment. We’re proud of our women’s team, our fantastic supporters, and our passionate people across our club – all of whom have contributed to this moment. The hard work that got us here will continue as we remain focused on nurturing the connection with our supporters.
“It’s been encouraging to see attendances and broadcast viewing figures grow this season across the WSL. We want to ensure that we drive this level of support consistently, season after season, as we continue to accelerate the sustainable growth of the women’s game.”
Early bird tickets for Manchester United are still available here.
Early bird tickets for our fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at Emirates Stadium on March 3rd are also on sale and are available here.
