Arsenal Women announces extra Emirates WSL game this season

Arsenal Women have announced an extra WSL game is to take place at Emirates Stadium before the end of the season, with the match against Leicester, currently scheduled for 21 April (though broadcast selections have not yet been made for that weekend) to be moved to the Emirates from Meadow Park.

Initially, the club announced five of their 11 WSL home games were to take place at the Emirates, with a WSL record crowd for the recent 4-1 win over Chelsea and crowds of 53k and 35k also attracted for games against Liverpool and Aston Villa in October. February’s match up against Manchester United is on course to sell out, while tickets for March’s North London derby are also selling very healthily.

Leicester will be the penultimate home match of the season and that will be added to the schedule, meaning the Gunners will have played more than half of their home league games at the club’s main stadium.

Arsenal Chief Executive, Vinai Venkatesham, said “we’ve been thrilled by the consistent support for our women’s team this season. That includes record attendances, as well as regular sell outs at Meadow Park and for all our away allocations.

“We’re delighted to bring our supporters another match at Emirates to build on that, and give as many of them as possible the opportunity to get behind the team in what will be a crucial period of our season”.

The match remains part of the women’s season ticket, and season ticket holders will be allocated the same seat(s) they have been using for all other games at Emirates Stadium for the 2023/24 season. The game will not be part of the Emirates Home Advantage Pack, however supporters who purchased a Home Advantage Pack will have the opportunity to purchase their usual seat(s) in a priority window that will open on Thursday 25th January at 2pm (UK) and close on Monday 29th January at 2pm (UK).

As a Liverpool fan, living in London, I’ve seen Arsenal women play twice far this season. The marketing team have been fantastic for the Women’s side, both around the actual game and getting to know the players outside of games and training. Fair play to them, my next game at the Emirates is vs Man U in February.

Fun Gunner

They seem to be far and away the best at getting bums on seats for the women’s matches, I agree!

I confused why I can’t use balance from TE to pay for this game
