Arsenal Women boss Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that Danish midfielder Kathrine Kuhl is likely to join Everton on loan until the end of the season.
Earlier in the window, Arseblog News reported that Kuhl would likely go on loan in January and a report emerged from Arnela Muminovic in Denmark that Everton was set to be the destination.
Arseblog News asked Eidevall about the links in his pre Watford press conference. ‘Our preference with Ke would be to go to Everton on loan. The style of play they have will suit her in possession a lot.
‘Her number one thing to work on and develop will be decision making and in order to do so you need to be on the ball and she can be an important part of what they are trying to build.
‘Also, she has worked with the Everton manager before, that is a strong indicator for me that he knows her both as a player and as a person. You can never get assurances in football but this is as close as you can get that she will get game time for them.’
Eidevall also confirmed this is seen as a developmental loan and not a precursor to a sale. ‘She is a phenomenal player, we would like for her to play a lot of minutes and continue her development and come back and be a key part of our squad going forward.’
Kathrine Kuhl has shown that she’s a highly skilled player this season when featured for Arsenal & according to Jonas, is a “phenomenal player.”
This half-season loan is well planned & will ensure she has significant game time on the field, and she will surely thrive on her new responsibility.
I will watch any televised Everton matches in 2024.
I very much forward to her return next season – she definitely has the skills and technique to become a Great Gunner.
