Leah Williamson is on the bench for tonight’s Conti Cup game away at Reading for the first time since rupturing her ACL in April last year. Williamson is expected to get some time off the bench this evening depending on the game state. Kim Little also returns to the match day squad for the first time in 2024.
Lia Walti and Lotte Wubben-Moy are rested. Sabrina D’Angelo starts in goal with a back four of McCabe, Beattie, Codina and Catley. Pelova and Cooney-Cross play in the midfield double pivot, with Lacasse on the right, Maanum at number 10 and Foord on the left with Blackstenius upfront.
14.D’Angelo; 15.McCabe(c), 27.Codina, 5.Beattie, 7.Catley; 21.Pelova, 32.Cooney-Cross; 24.Lacasse, 12.Maanum, 19.Foord; 25.Blackstenius.

Fabulous!
An academy player who can play left forward would have made more sense on the bench than a 2nd keeper
That ref looks about 12 years old, which presumably is why she has given Steph a yellow card for asking that the Reading players retreat at a corner.
That was… odd.
