Arsenal U18s have been hugely impressive in recent weeks, with yesterday’s emphatic 9-0 victory away to Norwich City representing another major step in the right direction.
Chido Martin Obi continued his incredible goalscoring form by remarkably finding the net on seven occasions.
There has been much talk about the prolific striker but it needs to be noted that other members of the Arsenal U18 team are also stepping up to make an impact.
Andre Annous and Dan Casey also managed to get on the scoresheet against Norwich, while Annous set up three goals and Casey, who entered the fray as a substitute, also provided an assist.
Annous is still a schoolboy but has become increasingly involved with the U18s of late. A midfielder who is also capable of playing out wide, he was deployed on the left wing against Norwich and produced an encouraging performance.
16-year-old attacking midfielder Casey is the youngest of the current batch of first year scholars. He has endured many problems with injuries in recent years but has shown some encouraging signs for the U18s this season, with his technical ability being of a very high standard.
There are two fixtures remaining for Arsenal U18s this season, away to Tottenham Hotspur and at home to Chelsea.
Annous and Casey will both be eager to feature prominently in those games and provide another indication of what they are capable of.

I see that Martin Obi has scored 28 goals in 9 games for U18s (at the age of 16) and broken the academy record – it’ll be interesting to watch his progression, I assume he’ll step up to U21s next season given that level of performance
