Jesus should have been held back for Germany. Havertz is ineffective in midfield. Jorginho should have started alongside Odegaard and Rice in the middle.

No. Both Partey and Jorginho on the bench is stupid. Either should have started.
Havertz up front with Jesus on the left would have been a better option.
I would have played partey and saved Jesus too. Then Havertz #8 against Bayern. But should be enough with Zinny aiding them. And rice and Havertz Odegaard in mids aren’t going to give them any space.

Although we’ve scored loads of goals this season, our ruthlessness in the box is still an obvious point in our game that needs drastic improvement. I’ve always believed it can be achieved without new signings, but I’m losing confidence.

To be fair he needs a rest, looked quite out of sorts vs Bayern. Much sharper today 1st half but then exhausted himself again… not sure he would’ve done better. Maybe, but maybe not, and hindsight is 20:20 innit..

It’s mostly a case of not taking our chances when we were on top. If we had scored earlier in the game, it becomes different.
Funny that this Villa team has been suspect defensively the last few games, only to become world-beaters against us today. Sigh
The usual spring meltdown, but this time after having spent 200+ millions on players. adds another layer of frustration.
The boys looked spent in the second half today. Such a shame we couldn’t put away first half chances. Fatigue, mental and physical, is our biggest challenge now. Also, the team has so much less brains and heartbeat without Odegaard on the pitch. Incredibly frustrating and deflating but not the end of our title run. Things are out of our hands now. City haven’t lost a match since December and I don’t see them losing any the rest of the way. Their squad is just too deep, another level from both us and Liverpool.
