Stina Blackstenius signs new Arsenal Contract

Arsenal have confirmed that Swedish striker Stina Blackstenius has extended her contract with the club, as reported by Arseblog News last week. The 28-year-old, who joined from Hacken in Sweden in January 2022, has scored 43 goals in 83 appearances for the Gunners, including the winning goal in this season’s Conti Cup Final, as well as winning goals home and away against Manchester City.

Blackstenius’ previous deal was due to run down this summer and she had interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich but has chosen to extend her stay at the club. Stina signed the deal at the end of last week after positive discussions.

“I’m so happy to have signed a new contract here at Arsenal,” said Stina. “In the space of two and a half years, this club has come to feel like home – that’s thanks to my team-mates and the staff of course, but most of all because of our wonderful supporters. There is such a special atmosphere around this club and we are all hungry to achieve more together. Your support means the world to me and I can’t wait to get back here to go again next season.”

Head Coach Jonas Eidevall added: “Stina is a top-class striker and I’m delighted that she has signed a new deal with us. Her goalscoring naturally takes a lot of the focus, but Stina’s game is so much more than that. She’s incredibly hard-working and brings so much to the team with her clever running and physicality. I know she’ll continue to be a huge part of what we’re building here at the club.”

Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “We’re very happy to have agreed a new contract with Stina, who has made a hugely important contribution to the club since joining us back in 2022. Stina is an integral part of our team and consistently rises to the occasion in the most important games. I’m sure our supporters will join me in congratulating Stina and wishing her continued success here in North London.”

Congratulations, Stina! I’m so happy about this, nice to have it confirmed. She scores so many important goals and is a really big player for us.

Really impressed with her work off the ball as well. So glad she’s staying.

For a player who I continually gripe about, she’s scored a lot of important goals, her work rate is phenomenal, and she never seems to be injured. I still think her first touch and finishing need work but she’s getting better all the time. I’ve very glad she signed!

Why the f*ck are Barca interested in literally everyone?

Bobbert

Barca are broke and it doesn’t cost anything to run an internet rumor story to hopefully unsettle a player enough to get them to throw their career away at the felony accounting stadium, or whatever they’re calling it now

Hopefully this coming year she’ll get the coaching on finishing to match the positioning she already possesses.

Amor pelo futebol feminino

Barça already has Ewa Pajor and others in the role, she would definitely be a reserve, I don’t know much about Bayer and I don’t care either, at least the coach there is doing a great job, I’m glad Stina renewed and success, be it Welcome again

I don’t know if there is any data on this, but I think she may be the fastest runner in the squad – maybe a race with Emily? (I believe that they do time runs during training. I have memories of Hector Bellerin beating Theo Walcott’s times and I’ve seen videos of England’s women’s Rugby Union players running past speed cameras).
