Arsenal to face Bournemouth in Los Angeles

Arsenal will face Bournemouth as part of the upcoming pre-season tour of the USA.

The friendly will be hosted by Dignity Health Sports Park, home of the LA Galaxy, on Wednesday 24th July, a couple of days after Mikel Arteta’s first team squad touchdown in California.

It’s a venue that Arsenal have played at before. Unai Emery’s Arsenal beat Bayern Munich 2-1 in 2019 while Arsene Wenger’s 2016 touring squad beat Chivas Guadalajara 3-1.

We imagine the match against the Cherries will be a relatively low-key affair. The stadium only has a maximum capacity of 27,000 and many of the players currently on international duty at the European Championships and Copa America probably won’t take part.

All the same, it should be a fun opportunity for Gooners on the West Coast to get a glimpse of the boys before they face Manchester United at SoFi Stadium the following Sunday.

After the showdown with the Red Devils, the Gunners will fly to Philadelphia where they will begin preparations for a third Stateside friendly with Liverpool at Lincoln Financial Field.

Arsenal will round off pre-season with a double-header of matches at Emirates Stadium. Bayer Leverkusen visit on Wednesday 7 August before Lyon take part in the Emirates Cup on Sunday 11 August.

Better than facing Los Angeles in Bournemouth I suppose.

Wrexham are shit though, why play them in preseason at all, Let alone in bournemouth

Sam

Can we not play premier league teams in preseason. There are so many teams around the world that we never play, why not play them instead of teams we will face at least twice during the season

Mikel and Iraola are best friends so at least 15% of this is that they wanted to catch up over a kale smoothie.

Just a guess, but it might have to do with money.

Is the U21 game vs Rapid in Slovakia open for public? I find no info about that game on the hotel’s website.

Yes.

yes

My friend lives in Los Angeles and supports Bournemouth so this would be great news for him if he existed.

Best post in a long time,

As someone who grew up near Bournemouth I’ve always had a soft spot for them. I remember the days not so long ago when they were shaking buckets and collecting donations in the town centre just to keep the club solvent. Now they are an established, entertaining PL team lording it in LA during preseason against the mighty Arsenal. Fair play to them!

I cannot wait to pay for the pleasure of watching our pre season games after paying through the nose for sky sports, tnt, Arsenals £60 membership (i hope the friendies are included now i have that?), BBC TV license, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus. No youtube subscription so a few random games free on that but destroyed with ads. etc etc etc lol.
