Ceadach O’Neill settling in well at Arsenal

Arsenal U18s have started the season with two wins in succession, with summer signing Ceadach O’Neill amongst the impressive performers.

The 16-year-old winger featured at senior level for his previous club Linfield and has played for Northern Ireland U17s.

O’Neill gave a very good account of himself on his competitive debut for Arsenal U18s against West Ham United last week as he scored a brace.

The youngster caught the eye with his direct running and also demonstrated that his technical ability is of a very high standard.

In the short term, O’Neill will be determined to keep his place in the U18 side and establish himself as an important player for Jack Wilshere’s team.

As the season progresses, the prospect could well be involved at higher levels, with a call up to the U21 squad certainly not out of the question.

A hard-working player, O’Neill featured for Arsenal U17s in Brazil last year, which means that he is already used to playing with many of his team-mates.

There are several other exciting creative players in the U18 squad, including Dan Casey, Andre Annous and Alex Marciniak, with the expectation being that Wilshere’s team will cause numerous problems for opponents.
