According to transfer experts Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano, Brooke Norton-Cuffy is on the verge of joining Genoa in a permanent deal.
The England under-21 international has earned the move to Serie A off the back of successful loan spells with Lincoln City, Rotherham United, Coventry City and Millwall.

He’s gained a lot of experience in senior football during the last couple of years but never really got a sniff of first team action under Mikel Arteta.
To be fair with Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White and Jurrien Timber all recruited in his preferred position in the last three years, it’s hardly surprising.
Romano claims the Gunners will make €2 million plus add-ons from Norton-Cuffy’s sale.

Having raised £38 million from the sales of Mika Biereth and Emile Smith Rowe and with Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson likely to leave the club this summer, it looks like the Arsenal Academy will end up funding most of our summer business.
Good luck, BNC.
Norton is in Java.
Last time, I use this pun unfortunately.
I am not going to brook(e) any puns surrounding this lad
Good luck to him , there s so.ethi g about him as well as impressive skills , he settled into Millwall and championship and seen a game or two where he was playing and did really well, a tough players aswell as the speed, will be a talent no doubt
Agreed. I wonder if I will be right or not, but I think he will be a very good player…
Even if Millwall was “only” a mid-table team last season but on European level the Championship is a very serious league and Norton-Cuffy was an established starter at only 19.
Hope there’s a decent sell on clause, because he looks like a player with potential to reach a higher level in a year or two (no disrespect to the Genoese).
Hope the sell-on clause is very genoese to us.
Genoa think it may be.
Italy the home of defenders. I’m sure we will see him soon in the Premier League in the future. Sounds like a good step for him
Got the impression yesterday that Reiss is staying for the moment?
If the Kingsley Coman links are real then I doubt it’ll be for long.
2 million seems quite low for an England under 21 international. Can only assume there’s a sizeable sell on percentage.
I hope we have a sell on clause on this deal?
Wonder if there could be a buy back clause on this one too, seems like a good step for his development
Best wishes, son❤️🙏🏾
What is the point of our academy these days? Most are good enough to rep their country at u21 but that potential is never good enough for Arsenal. All that talent alllowed to walk out the door for next to nothing. This pre season in particular has been a disaster for the academy strategy…if there is one.
How would you run things for the academy lads? Please be specific.
“How would I run things for the lads”? Not talking operations, I’m talking about the club’s overall academy strategy being a total failure if you judge the success of teams’ youth programs on the number of players consistently breaking through into the first team. Apparently our academy is nothing more than a feeder channel for other teams these days because none are good enough to stay with Arsenal despite a big % representing their country at youth level. Would love to be proven wrong with nwanieri but not holding my breath…instead journeymen midfielders from mid table Spanish teams will be… Read more »
Two things to consider: one, is this pattern unique to Arsenal? Let’s take City and Liverpool as comps. How many academy kids make it to solid first team roles with them every year? Liverpool recently bought Endo, Gravenberch and Szoboszlai despite having talents like Harvey Elliot, Curtis Jones and Stefan Bajetic at the club. At City they just bought Savio and Doku despite having Oscar Bobb and James McAtee. And two, how often do strong performances at U18 and U21 levels translate to senior football? I dont know the numbers but you could look at the U21 squad lists from… Read more »
Difference is Chelsea, City, Pool etc get decent fees when they sell. Arsenal do not, pathetic at selling really.
BNC, Eddie, Reiss and ESR funding our sneaky last minute Nico Williams release clause bid I can only hope
It’s OK… Kingsley Coman is on his way
I really hope not. A 28 year old average winger who blows hot and cold on loan for one season is not the answer to any question we may be asking. I can talk myself into most transfers, struggling with this one.
He’s far from average but he is coming off an injury, gets paid a lot of money and isn’t incisive enough in the penalty box. I think we should do better but maybe he’s the most realistic option left. If he does come it cannot be with a buy obligation.
If the rumoured release clause of £46m is true, then I’d say that’s a steal.
We should just trigger in on deadline day. We’ve done it before with Partey…
