Arsenal Women defender Teyah Goldie has joined Championship side London City Lionesses on a season-long loan deal. The 20-year-old made her debut for the Gunners as a 17-year-old but has since incurred successive ACL injuries, returning to fitness during the second half of last season.
Goldie had also spent time on loan at Watford. ‘I’m very excited to be here,’ Goldie said. ‘I feel like it’s been a long time coming for me to come to a good place, with good people, and to be playing football again.
‘I’m lucky enough to be familiar with a lot of the girls, which is lovely, and it feels like I’ve been here a lot longer than I have. Everyone has been really welcoming and has helped me settle in well.
‘My number one aim for this season is to play regular minutes at a high level. I always want to play possession-based football and I feel that playing on this team will help me achieve that. I absolutely love defending and driving forward with the ball. I’m really excited to be here.’
LCL have invested heavily this summer, moving to Bromley’s Hayes Lane and signing established talent such as Kosavore Asllani and they are expected to challenge for promotion from the Championship. She will link up with former Gunner Emma Mukandi and Danielle Carter (the latter of whom is pregnant).

She would struggle to put minutes on the meter with our squad defenders at the moment but she certainly has the ability to make it to the first team when her time comes so if she can play matches and remain fit in the meantime that’s great
She will surely learn valuable insights & skills from playing with Kosavore Asllani.
