Despite being a defender, Josh Robinson has provided a significant attacking threat for Arsenal U21s during their last two games.
A player who is also capable of operating at centre-back if required, Robinson has featured at right-back in the last two matches for the U21s in the absence of Josh Nichols
Robinson, 19, is a useful asset given his ability to get up and down the pitch quickly. In addition, he reads the game well and is a hard-working player.
There are some aspects of the defensive side of Robinson’s game which require improvement but he is continuing to develop well.
After finding the net against Aston Villa in Premier League 2 on Friday, Robinson did so again in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy game away to Leyton Orient last night as he spotted the opposition goalkeeper off his line and took full advantage.
Robinson was previously involved with the Arsenal U18 squad as they reached the final of the FA Youth Cup in the 2022/23 campaign.
When Nichols is back available it isn’t guaranteed that Robinson will still be in the starting lineup for the U21s.
However, Robinson’s encouraging performances in the last couple of games will certainly have given coach Mehmet Ali something to think about.

Tough to do but let’s hope he can make the grade to the first team.
Who shot?

I guess Robinson and Nichols will be joshing for the squad place.
It could get fruity. Robinson will be keen to squash the competition.
