Welcome to a brand new episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, the number one podcast about Arsenal Women.
On this episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim and Jamie pore over the wreckage of the Gunners’ drab 0-0 draw with Everton. They go over the starting line ups, why the first half, by Jonas Eidevall’s admission, lacked urgency, the substitutions and why Rosa Kafaji didn’t come on and the more recurring themes of struggling to break down packed defences. In the second half, Tim and Jamie take your questions on the manager’s future and how much pressure he is under, the balance of the wide players, whether the issue is now mid blocks as opposed to low blocks, the fault lines between the players and the coach and how worried we should be by the lack of intensity in the performance.

Good Arsecast , good to have Jamie in there, but in football when the team is not performing and they are not then it is the responsibility of the Manager. If players are tired then that is due to the Manager, if a player does not have the right frame of mind, doesn’t know their job, understand their role then that is the Manager’s fault. Just to be boring, tired or not, McCabe should come off sooner as she was as bad as Russo and others. If she was tired then play another, she is not indespensible. It has taken… Read more »
I don’t know what was said in the podcast, but according to your analysis, I agree with you: the coach is fully responsible for what happens to his team on the field. And one more thing: if Jonas tells them to play this way and they do something else, something is wrong. The coach is the brains of the team. He’s the one who makes the tactics and strategies happen. Unfortunately, the board won’t fire Jonas unless he resigns, which is difficult. The tendency is to lead Arsenal to more defeats. Palace, who hadn’t won a single game, scored two… Read more »

disregard this comment, I don’t know why it came out twice
I very much go along with the tone of the podcast. Not only was it justifiably critical but also seemed to hold out less hope than it has in the past. You did bring out what I think is the most serious problem – the team just seems dispirited.
Quite telling that the AWFC IG account’s post was almost a plea to the fans to stay with the team for a big week ahead..
Thank you, Tim and Jamie, I like this podcast now. because Jamie brough a balance, a view from a not Lionesses perspective.
Mariona plays better at the center, she’s “media punta”, she doesn’t stay playing wide, she had Rolfo at Barcelona and have Olga at La Roja to take her spot and stretch the defense when she drops to the center. Jonas is not the man to managing this precious team. I want to see Arsenal playing Bayern with Foord- Mariona- Kafagi and Frida in front of them.
