It is still a sign of squad shallowness rather than depth that 7 players on our bench have played just five times or less due to their tender age. But senior players are slowly starting to return and I’m so happy for these teenagers to experience the atmosphere of a champions league night.
It’s a 12 man bench!
We have three incredibly experienced PL players in Jesus, Sterling and Jorginho on the bench plus Merino and Kiwior with tons of international experience (and some PL for Kiwior) plus some solid youth players (and that is with missing so many experienced players due to injury).
Arteta doesn’t give academy kids a chance! Also, everyone on our bench should have a shit load of experience already!
It is a sign of depth that the teenagers are not *playing*, not a sign of shallowness that they’re on the bench. A while lot has to go wrong for Nichols and Kacurri to play tonight, but they’re growing as Arsenal players through the experience of being on the bench.

When that exquisite strike went in against Man City it seems I just fell in love.
I seem to be constantly humming that song “That’s Amore” substituting “Calafiori” in.
Isn’t it fantastic to have White, Zinchenko snd Tomiyasu out and still being able to field Calafiori and Timber? I think our defensive depth is the best I’ve seen. Not only at Arsenal but generally.

It is going to happen soon, and I think tonight might be the night : arsenal demonstrate that we are now at another level against a European giant.
That’s been the story halfway through. PSG already look out of ideas. They just have to hope Nuno can do something because he’s by far their best player.
We’re kind of dominating them, odd counterattack aside. Not sure we can still call them “a European giant” but they’re certainly no minnows and we’re kind of making them look like ones. Hope we can consolidate that domination into a nice 4-0 thrashing.
Was hoping for a 4-0 as well. Thought we made them look ordinary. It’s not a small thing considering their expenditure, their coach, the fact they’re often making the semis in Europe and we have only been back in the competition a few years.
