Nwaneri continues to make progress with England U19s

It has been an encouraging start to the season for Ethan Nwaneri, with the hugely talented midfielder becoming increasingly involved with the Arsenal first-team squad.

Nwaneri is continuing to make an impact at international level too and has now established himself as a key player for England U19s.

While youngsters often play above their age group at club level, that isn’t always the case on the international stage. However, Nwaneri, who is still technically an U18 player, has been captaining England U19s in recent games.

After scoring against France today, Nwaneri boasts an impressive record of five goals in seven appearances for England U19s, which follows on from 15 goals in 28 appearances for the U18s.

England will hope to participate at the U19 Euros finals in Romania next summer and if they do then it seems likely that Nwaneri will have a prominent part to play in proceedings, if he hasn’t already progressed to higher levels.

When he returns to club action Nwaneri will be aiming to gain more Premier League minutes in the near future, while he will also hope to make his Champions League debut at some stage and the upcoming Carabao Cup tie away to Preston could represent another chance for him to make an impact.

Nwaneri may have to be patient to fully establish himself for club and country but he has made a lot of small steps in the right direction and his progress has been very encouraging indeed.

Looking very promising!! Would love him to progress through to the first team, decent chance that he does.

Teryima Adi

The future is bright for the last.

TeeCee

With the way things have been going, if he becomes a key player for the national team we’ll probably get him back missing a lung or something.

Ebo

he’ll come back with banjaxed quadriceps in both legs having been run over by a lawn mower while warming up before a pre-friendly U19 Nations League qualifier

Cruize

I dont want to start anything, but this guy Nwaneri looks like Gabriel Jesus from the face and height.

Giuseppe Hovno

Except Jesus always looks totally pained

Ebo

Because they’re black and have goatees? Do they both look like Tupac to you?

Fuck, gabby J does look a bit like Tupac. That’s what I get for trying to mess with people’s racist stereotypes, now all eyez on me.

Also, while we’re at it, Calafiori love.

(this is what interlulls do to people)

Indiegooner

LoL.. got me thinking about that game where the referee sent off Gibbs for a handball committed by Ox probably because they both had same skin colour and shaved heads.

Matthinc

So excited about this lad

Determination Cultured

He should be our ode, saka and merino cover. This should give him sufficient game time this season to grow.
