The Norwegian international turned his ankle playing for his country on 9 September, causing him to miss 12 matches for Arsenal. Although Mikel Arteta’s side initially managed without their captain, recent Premier League results have faltered, putting their title ambitions at risk.
In Europe, however, Arsenal are well-positioned, having earned two wins and a draw from their first three Champions League matches. A positive result at the San Siro could go a long way toward securing a top-eight finish, which would help them avoid a play-off double-header.
While it’s unlikely Odegaard will start in Milan, his presence in the squad should provide a morale boost for both fans and teammates, following a tough period marked by a loss to Newcastle and the surprise resignation of Sporting Director Edu.
Norway, who had also hoped for Odegaard’s return, appear to have omitted him from their upcoming fixtures against Slovenia and Kazakhstan.

We needed this good news.
So good it had to be delivered twice
He’s missed 24 games for Arsenal according to this article. Feels like it.
am i reading it twice ?
Yes!
Yes.
am I reading it twice?
He’s gonna find out who’s naughty or nice!
Deja vu
so nice they named it twice
Such an important moment…………
“So good, you’ve named it twice”
So Arteta was right – it was weeks (8) and not months (2)
I’ve upvoted it but… apart from “one hour and a half” and “one and a half hour”,which are both correct. it should be plural. so it’s “one and half days”, unless you say “one day and a half”. so it’s one and half months. like is one and half years
I didn’t upvote this because I had to read it five times and don’t feel like it was entirely worth it
Odegard is a massive boost, but we get the best out of him when he links up with Saka, Ben White, and Havertz down the right hand side. If we have these 4 players fit, we should be in a very strong position.
Bring David Dein back
The man’s in his 80s, let him rest!
I watched Fulham against Brentford. Emile Smith Rowe had a pretty good game, but anyone who thinks he would have been a like-for-like replacement for Ødegaard is remembering his promise, not how he has actually developed. I’m probably in the minority, but I think Arteta has generally done a decent job of covering for Ødegaard’s role, mostly by using a kind of four-player interior box (Rice and Partey behind Havertz and–usually–Trossard) with Martinelli and Saka out wide. That doesn’t make up for Ødegaard’s creativity and vision, but it does a lot to compensate for his leading the press and for… Read more »
Beautifully said
I disagree. We’ve dropped 12 points first quarter of the season.
It’s been a shitshow
Just in time to get match fit for the interlull!
Thank God a good news.
Not in the Norwegian squad is a bit of a touch, mind you the Norge coach owes us one…
Best of all, he is not part of the norway squad , the Squad was announced today, and no Ødegaard.
Now we find Rice is not going to Milan for the Inter game – injury or rest or both?
That’s one way to boost your word count. That’s one way to boost your word count.
Excellent news! Hopefully we won’t need him against Inter and he’ll be 100% for the Chel$ea match.
Great news. But overall, the fact we have to think about title ambitions in October and early November is ridiculous. What a shambles of a sporting competition.
