I know it’s too early to get really hyped about MLS but I think maybe I prefer him in the line up to Calafiori? It’s certainly not making me anxious to have him play. Is this our best 11?
Happy with that line up.
Especially Big G coming back.
Imagine if we got Dyche sacked?
That’d be fun.
Might be in the minority here but I’ve never really hated Dyche. Industrial football aside, as managers go he seems like one of the more approachable ones. Just a caricature of himself at this point, kind of like a funny uncle.
Having said that I fully expect him to kick off and punch Jover now.
I always hated the way he played against us when he was at Burnley. Yes, some of it was physical but fair.
But there was a lot of cheating and a lot of dangerous play that got applauded as “proper tackles”.
Havimg said that, you have to play to your strengths. And when you’re as shite as Burnley, kicking the opposition is kinda all you’ve got.
Welcome back to our best striker
“Gabriel Maga…..”
Make Arsenal Great Again
Fucking Leicester are on the tv here again for the third week in a row… why
Gary Lineker throwing his weight around again… 🙄
*ears
Haha! And don’t be surprised if you see a lot of Walkers Crisps adverts at halftime.
Or is it Lays in USA?
It’s frito lay in the US, and they don’t really advertise during the premier league, more during European games- it’s mostly insurance, pharma, and car adverts (like 90% of us advertising)
Second start in a row for MLS, fingers crossed, what a talent!
But it got me thinking: Arteta doesn’t seem so hesitant around him compared to Nwaneri, who we’re ‘building up brick by brick.’
Why such difference in approach?
(no criticism, just thinking out loud)
Because we do not have a fit left-back while we have Ode in Nwaneri’s position.
He didn’t give Nwaneri back to back starts in Ode’s absence though.
It might be who drops to the bench in the case of Nwaneri. He surely won’t start ahead of Ødegaard/Rice/Merino in such important games.
But MLS has Zinchenko and Tierney “ahead” of him at the moment. That’s not a head scratcher for Arteta.
Understandable, but different players are available in Nwaneri’s position. Lb has been a problem all season, so now is a good a time as any to give MLS more minutes, especially after his midweek display.
Less fit left backs.
I actually am thinking the same!
Not criticism but it’s a mystery.
Maybe Artets will explain this someday (not😂😂😂)
Anyway…….. what we do know is that these 2 players are pure class
I like the balance with the FBs. Left on left, right on right. That will have a big impact on our ability to penetrate their press and their block. Big Gabi will be a big boon against their long kicks to DCL and against their set pieces. If they hurt us it will be through those two things.
They’ll probably try to hurt some of our best players also. Fingers crossed everyone get’s through this one unscathed!
I’m delighted to see MLS start. That’s a strong squad and hoping we gloss a 3 points with nice spattering of goals COYG!!!
MLS – A League of His Own
Strong bench!
Would love to see Tierney come on and make an impact
I would love to see Tierney come on at 70 mins with the game already won
Finally Timber at RB!! 💪
We should too much for Everton.
Ten days without action might work against them: they could lose a tad of match sharpness.
Strong first team, solid bench. Arteta ‘almost’ got his first line-up.
Hopefully Gabriel is 100% fit. Otherwise not worth risking him today.
Too slow, sloppy, and poor. Merino and Rice against a team that plays with 15 at the back is criminal. Trossard or Nwaneri for Merino.
I’m losing patience with martinelli now, it’s the wrong choice every single time he gets the ball……more intensity in the second half please
I have been saying this for 18months.
he was fine, had some good moments, definitely not worse than Saka in this game. Both of them got into dangerous positions but mostly overhit or mishit their crosses, as did seemingly everyone else.
A lot of time wasted passing around the back and slow in transition and then we have to hope they won’t be desperate near full-time. A tram like Everton depend on being well organised and in formation, so if you catch them on the break, don’t pass backwards.
Is this who we are now? Are we not trying to win a title? Shocking first half. Pedestrian, lethargic.
Partey or Jorghinho
Would have made that middle more balanced.
Kinda feel like we are playing with 2 destroyers.
I will use Merino and Rice
Against a team I’m expecting to see less of the ball
Not Everton.
The refs are back.
I have given up on us ever winning a trophy and in Arteta. When your top league scorer has just five goals and your manager thinks that a player (Kai Havertz) is a striker and a player who has scored just one goal in 32 games is your answer up front then you have someone in denial. A goal less draw might as well have been a fucking defeat the eay it feels. Arteta thinks he is Pep – the difference is that peps brilliance and unlimited resources allow him to succeed – Arteta just seems to have taken us… Read more »
That was a poor performance by Arsenal. Very slow ball movement especially in 1st half with too much backwards passing. No one took initiative going forward, everyone just played it safe hoping that a chance materializes eventually on a cross or free kick or that Saka can shake off triple coverage to make something happen. Our left side attack is lacking.
