Ismeal Kabia has already achieved some significant milestones this season. The winger made his senior debut as a substitute against Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup, while he was also named on the bench for the Premier League games away to Tottenham and Bournemouth.
Given the injuries to Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling, Kabia, who usually plays on the right flank, will be hoping that he will at least be able to get on the bench for some senior fixtures over the next month or so.
There are other academy wide options to consider, such as Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Seb Ferdinand and Osman Kamara, but Kabia may be best placed to step up at this stage.
The 19-year-old is extremely quick and over the last year has established himself as a regular starter for Arsenal U21s having previously endured much misfortune with injuries.
Eligible to represent the Netherlands, Sierra Leone or England, Kabia is an exciting player to watch and he delivers dangerous crosses with regularity. However, he does need to be a bit more ruthless in front of goal at times, as shown by the fact that he has only scored twice for the U21s this season.
Kabia is, though, excellent at providing opportunities for his team-mates and he registered four assists for the U19s during their UEFA Youth League campaign.
A loan spell will probably be required in the near future in order to help Kabia iron out some aspects of his game.
However, he has made excellent progress and will be looking for first-team involvement in some capacity.
Whether he actually receives any game time is a different matter entirely, with senior players likely to be used out of position, but Kabia could well prove to be a useful option at some stage, especially if there are further injuries.

We have to sign a wide player and a striker if we have any chance of salvaging the campaign. Too many matches for the this squad to cope with.
Him getting minutes and an addition to the front line not the same thing.
