Arsenal’s trip to Nottingham Forest in February has been pushed back 24 hours and will now take place on Wednesday 26th February.
The match was due to be played on Tuesday but is being moved so that Nuno Espirito Santos’ side avoids playing twice in 48 hours. Forest travel to Newcastle for the 4.30 pm kick-off on the preceding Sunday while the Gunners host West Ham on the Saturday.
As things stand, both sides are vying for the Champions League places and attempting to hunt down league leaders Liverpool. If that’s still the case in five weeks, it promises to be a mouthwatering showdown.
TNT Sports has the broadcast rights in the UK for all 10 matches on Matchweek 27.
I bet my house the premier league wouldn’t do that for us.
Nah, that’s not true. Ensuring teams don’t play twice within 48 hours is standard procedure. There’s no need to exaggerate or imagine grievances from the “powers that be”. The 3 red cards we got early in the season is bad enough!
9 of our midweek games have been on Wednesday and just 4 on Tuesday. So irritating. I work on Wednesday nights.
Works in our favour for once.
Quiet, or they’ll wheel out Darren England for the match and ruin it for us.
