Arsenal Women’s Danish midfielder Kathrine Kuhl is negotiating a move to Serie A club Roma as per Leonardo Frenquelli of Il Romanista. The Dane joined the Gunners in January 2023 and had a loan spell with Everton during the second half of last season.
This season she has played just seven minutes in the WSL and has been set on a January move since the autumn as, even with Victoria Pelova unavailable, she has been unable to break into the team. Everton were interested in the player prior to the window opening but Roma are understood to be more willing to meet Arsenal’s asking price. Everton signed Hayley Ladd from Manchester United earlier in the window instead.
Kuhl was not featured in the midweek training pictures as she negotiates a move, which Frenquelli reports would be an Italian record at around 100,000 Euros. Our understanding at this stage is that Arsenal’s academy players on the fringes of the first team are likely to go out on loan. If there is movement into the club it is likely to be for a wide forward.
Arseblog News investigated links to Manchester City bound attacker Kerolin during January with a wide range of sources and couldn’t find any suggestion of serious, sustained interest in the player.
We will have an episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast available tomorrow morning UK time and we will have some exclusive content on Friday afternoon.
So that means Everton were not going to offer £100,000 for Kuhl? Anyway, I hope she gets her move. She has been very patient and needs to play. Fingers crossed. She must have had such high hopes when she arrived here a couple of seasons ago so it’s sad but it’s the right move for everyone. I don’t know much about Kerolin, but just going by what I read and stats website I don’t think she would provide the defensive shift and awareness which is essential for our forwards. Pace and goalscoring isn’t enough. Not to mention the doping suspension… Read more »

Unfortunately Kathrine’s time at Arsenal didn’t work out. I hope she is a success at Roma (although not if we play them).
Everton probably reached the same conclusion as we did with Ke. Pity it hasn’t worked out for the player who has done nothing wrong. Best of luck in Italy. She has plenty to offer in a league that suits her better.
