Interesting line up. Brentford are missing so many players to injury. Hope from line has a blinder. Come on you gunners. Most points in 2024, best defence in 2024, 2nd most goals in 2024. We have a great team and manager.

Bobbert

Brentfords danger men are still available, so we still need to be on our toes. Wissa and mbeumo have combined well, particularly early in matches to great effect.

Bobbert

Calafiori out of position on the transition after a mistake in midfield and it’s a goal, we’ve seen this before from him.

Dr. Gooner

I didin’t see much wrong with the initial positioning. Instead of getting tight he sagged off a step but Mbuemo fooled Raya with the finish. More about the striker than the defender, that one. The larger concern about his ability to defend quick attackers is valid. It was after he was moved to LCB from LB that his star rose. The hope is that at Arsenal with all of our control those issues don’t show up as much, but they still do occasionally. Does MLS prevent that goal though? I’m not so sure.

Iufgn

Wow didn’t realise those stats.

C.B.

Strong at the back, not sure about our attack, especially given how strong Brentford are at home.

Hope we can step up, will be a tough match.

Teedogg

Whoops. We scored three haha. Football is hard to predict.

Highbury gooner

Where’s Kai?

David C

Looks like a set piece goal incoming!

Any news on Havertz?

Crash Fistfight

Sickness bug in the Arsenal camp. Assuming it’s that.

Teedogg

Set piece again, set piece again! Arsenal F.C. It’s set piece again!

Collibosher

Bobbert

Ill, apparently

I’m comfortable with this line up. Let’s get it now.

Come on Ethan! This is the day the world gets to know your name. ❤️

CescFabulous

#FreeLeo hope they let him leave this month. At this point the Arteta Martinelli bromance is embarrassing

Bleeding Gums Murphy

Trossard has been mostly poor when starting. Great impact sub. It’s a great decision from Arteta not to start him

CescFabulous

Like last game when he assisted the game winner?

VAgooner

It has also been pointed out recently that he is the only outfield player to feature in every match this season?

Arsepedant

Wow, I think Arteta named the wrong moaner.

Dr. Gooner

Steady on there lad, as the Brits might say.

Odinelli

Martinelli and Jesus combo is back! I thought their exchange of positions when Xhaka was left 8 was extremely troublesome for opponents.

Hopefully Merino can have the same supporting effect

Dr. Gooner

I’ve been waiting for the Odegaard + Nwaneri game. It’s finally here!!

Dr. Gooner

I’m interpreting the lineup as a front 3 of Martinelli-Jesus-Nwaneri and a midfield 3 of TP, Merino and Odegaard. I LOVE the Calarfiori + Timber FB pair.

Brentford have only lost one game at home all season, recently beat Newcastle and Bournemouth there, and their defensive numbers in terms of shots allowed and xG allowed are both superb. They’re big, well coached, cohesive and committed. I am hopeful for a win but I think a draw is more likely given the absences up front.

Dr. Gooner

Pretty much the game I thought we’d see. Ethan is doing an pretty good Saka impersonation out there and getting a similar double team treatment as well. Merino playing CF when we have sustained pressure. The pattern of the game is the same as it has been against these low blocks. You feel we need another kind bounce to break for us to get a second against them. For their goal, I need to see it again to be sure but it looked like once Calafiori allows Mbeumo to cut inside, Raya shifts to his right and Mbuemo snipes it… Read more »

Kai??

Eric Blair

We need 3 points. Add another 3 at Brighton and we’ll be sitting pretty considering our remaining fixtures compared to Liverpool’s. Then add a forward signing.

Daveod

Playing like this we will have 0

Arsepedant

That aged well.

Al m

Today will be final nail in title coffin

Scrubbychubby

Give it a minute, for god’s sake. Conceding first doesn’t automatically mean the game is lost.

Bleeding Gums Murphy

TP5 easily our best player in the first half

Streathamdefault

Nwaneri also good

Scrubbychubby

And not for the first time this season.

Arsepedant

Oh ye of little faith. Pull your toys back in the pram.

Naked Cygan

Poor, very slow and poor. Martinelli, Merino, and Califiori need to come off soon. Have to take risk, the creativity is dog sh!t.

I Like Eboue-boue

Good job they didn’t come off.

vieiraera

Such a soft goal to concede. Odegaard needs to step it up. He’s having a bad game and it’s affecting the rest. Calafiori is too casual for my liking. This is not Serie A ffk. We have to get all 3 points today.

Bleeding Gums Murphy

Rice for merino and we win it.
