Arsenal are in Premier League action this afternoon, taking on Wolves at Molineux.
Here are the official line-ups.
Wolves:
Subs:
Arsenal: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly, Partey, Rice, Nwaneri, Martinelli, Havertz, Trossard
Subs: Neto, Porter, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Tierney, Calafiori, Jorginho, Sterling, Butler-Oyedeji
Let’s win
3 points essential. So glad we have Saliba and Miles, looking strong in defence. Need some goals!
Yep, and hope for a Tractor Boy miracle. Let’s keep an eye on this Cunha lad.
Omari late winner for good old sake ?
Great to see saliba , miles and Nwaneri starting. But worrying with no real attacking subs on the bench
Wonder what’s happened to Odegaard and Merino?
Did not even realise that Merino was absent as well. He sat the whole game on Wednesday so might be ill as well?
Lots of people got sick with the flu here in Belgium for few weeks. Guess situation is similar in the UK.
Probably right.. thought the same weds but they didn’t really say too much about it before or after the game? Either way, given those two missing bench looks quite weak and makes it all the more important we look to take the game on early!
I recall he trained with the subs at the beginning of the 2nd half but never entered the pitch which was a bit odd to me but maybe Mikel will provide us with some explanation today.
Think there are spaces to exploit especially on the left side with Semedo/Doherty
Both in Newcastle to see their old friend from Real Sociedad
Sucks for Ødegaard but believe Ethan can do the job!
Great to see Saliba, MLS and Calafiori back. Let’s hope Ben and Tomi are close too.
COYG
Hope for Ben White, yes; I don’t know what hope there is for Tomiyasu though. I have zero confidence in his ability to have a sustained time of fitness in a season. Summer might be time to bid him a painful but necessary farewell.
I think the issue with Tomiyasu is not fitness-related. As Arteta explained many times, he was severely impacted psychologically by his recurrent injuries. I just feel for the lad who fought on the pitch every time he was given the chance
Gosh, they’re dropping like flies.
Lol. Such a strange season on the injury front! Martinelli was beginning to look good on the left these last few weeks and now he has to fill in on the right again today.
Nwaneri returns, Ode gets crocked. It’s a miracle we are even still in Second tbh.
Nwaneri will be on left.
Tross through the middle.
I think and hope that Martinelli will spend most of the game on the left side of the pitch where he is most dangerous.
Martinelli will remain on the left with Nwaneri back on the right. I think it will be Trossard dropping to midfield. But it will be nice to see them all switch around if it will confuse Wolves players to our advantage.
That’s the plan in my opinion. Also, Havertz will switch with them as he usually do I think
Trossard is not very good in the middle. Thought he had his first decent game for a while the other night
He can be good at LCM but definitely not on the right as he did against Newcastle or during last Euro
We literally have no game changer on the bench in mid or forward positions. We need to get the job done with players who start the game. COYG!
Let’s bring out our inner corner beast today!!! to score three goals from corners!!!
3-0 to the Arsenal!!
Let’s go.
Looks like it. If I was the manager and we weren’t in front in the 70th or 75th, I’d sub in Kiwior and put Big Gabi upfront as central striker, relentlessly hauling in crosses. But probably that’s the reason I am no football manager, heheh. Bit similar to when Jen Beattie was deliberately substituted in as striker vs Wolfsburg in the CL. My secret hope is a Nwaneri masterclass performance today, but of course one can not demand nor expect that from the young man. Ideally he should be mentored alongside the stars, allowing him to gain more confidence with… Read more »
Who’s Jen Bettie? Another academy graduate 😃
I’d vote for you as next manager. I’d love to see that.
Can you imagine the combined troll/media meltdown?
WTF
I know. Arseblog never posts the opposition team-sheet. Tsk.
I know that with injuries we’ve had more younger players on the bench in recent times, but can anyone remember when we last had two goalkeepers on the bench?
Every CL game but no other game this season so far.
Think this has also to do with U23 playing yesterday at 7pm and U18 playing today at 11am both in London.
Yep 3 days ago
Marty injure himself rifling that ball home the other day?
Problem with his flux capacitor I believe.
Lack of left back cover on the bench worries me
Definitely the glaring gap in the squad! 😂
Agree, just missing Monreal, Winterburn and Sansom.
That starting forward line just has to deliver the goods. The bench is so horribly poor attack wise.
4 left backs/LCB on the bench is depressing. We can’t be serious of winning anything with this bench.
prepare yourselves for ethan’s definitive breakthrough
There is no way Micheal Oliver is not has not been bribed to ref Arsenal differently! All the dodgy decisions against us have been from this same ref!
Arsenal needs to makes some noise and take this up with the league
He was licking his lips waiting to do that. Absolute scum, burn the pgmol
Commentator on my feed trying to justify the red card. Var says it’s first contact by the studs above the knee. Looks ankle to ankle to me. We should all unsubscribe EPL because PGMOL is just full of it. Absolute bollocks.
Same old Oliver, Corrupt shit.
We should withdraw the team
Honestly we should! There is now way Arsenal is not being refereed differently. Something is happening on the backstage to upend or stop Arsenal from ever progressing again in this league.
The club needs to protest. And we don’t ever want Oliver officiating our games anymore!
The collusion of VAR to confirm such an erroneous call is staggering. Any tactical foul is “serious foul play” as long as it’s Arsenal committing the tactical foul.
I’m done watching this crap corrupted ref
Here we go, 99% Wolves possession. Never seen a more coward team when a man down.
If you bought Michael Oliver a brand new Ferrari but it wasn’t his favourite colour he’d give you a red card.
Another red card that has never been awarded before, nor will it be awarded in the future. Michael Oliver is a disgrace to his federation. He’s definitely corrupt. And so are the VAR-tw*ts that uphold this unacceptable decision. I feel like throwing up on the entire PGMOL.
To be honest they are all just as useless. The premiership may be the biggest league in the world but the quality of referees is the worst of all the major leagues by far.
❤️
Would be a waste for your puke. PGMOL are the scum of the PL. Would even welcome the Super League at this point because I’m tired of seeing these cunt refs from watching Arsenal.
LOL
They’ll probably recruit all the turds from PGMOL to the ”super”-league
Micheal Oliver is a national disgrace. 1000% corruption on display on live television. There’s no stooge or pundit that can defend the red card with their “because the laws of the game” BS, because we’ve seen this exact tackle 1,000,000 times before with yellow card every time.
It is indifferent how much Michael Oliver hates the Arsenal but what is important, how much the Arsenal hates him.
Politicians are more trustworthy than PGMOL.
Michael Oliver to Darren England pre game:
Mate, first opportunity I’m red carding Arsenal, make sure to let it stand. I’ll get you on the next Dubai trip, city football group are paying well for it.
Darren: sure thing boss, I’ll be trying not to laugh in the var room
Howard Webb: good job lads, once again our syndicate will rule the day
I did think that that is a red, just that it would never be given against us.
But this goes back to our style of play. Possession and time wasting, stopping the opponents no matter what. It’s risky and this shows it.
We need to go back to attacking football, remember that?
For style of play this was Arsenals most frustrating first half. Useless and toothless ; taking ages at restarts, incapable of gaining any momentum
In the scheme of things Lewis Skelly being sent off makes absolutely no difference- – Liverpool are running away with it and we are struggling with form and injuries. I just want this season to end now. It seems that Arsenal have lost more than players to injury this season…
Nobody is asking you to come and post your pity story. Imagine not being able to enjoy Arsenal being second in the league with 2 losses on the season and third in the champions league table. The boys are still fighting and you’re here whining in each comment section. I swear some of you just started watching Arsenal or you’re spoiled brats. I can promise the football prior to 3 seasons ago was horrendous to watch. Like never winning a game against the “big 6” under arteta we don’t lose to the big six. Find some perspective
All Trossard claim to be ambipedal in the bin.
Can’t lift a corner with his left
At least he’s tried.
Gonna miss Arsenal, the arseblog, Gunnerblog, and others, but I’m done following football. That was all I could handle. Bye everyone.
That’s the spirit… 🙄
Tbh I kinda understand where you are coming from, I’d say arsenal are at least six points down due to dubious refereeing decisions (Man city, Brighton and Brighton again) which would put us just three points behind the bindippers and clearly make this championship race more interesting (Liverpool being allowed to run away with it is dull as ditch water). I also think, had arsenal won that game against Man city certain subsequent results would have been better – if you think everything is going against you it grinds you down!! Beat the champions in their own back yard and… Read more »
A deserved result and justice served. They should have had a straight red card but the end result is what matters 🙂
Should have given him a second yellow in the first half for foul on rice outside the box
Yeah and what about the shoulder tackle to Timbers head by Agbadou?? Crickets.. we actually got a disadvantage after having to play without Timber for 30s.
