Leandro Trossard scored his first goal in 12 games to earn Arsenal three points in a 2-1 North London derby win this evening.
He spoke to TNT Sports afterwards, this is what he had to say.
A great feeling to win …
Yeah, that’s what we needed, a win today. We all know that we have to win those games, especially against Spurs. We know what it means to the fans, you can see everyone is buzzing, so it’s a great night for us.
Nothing better than a derby win …
No, definitely not. Especially those games, we know what it means to the fans. We were up for it today and we took the three points.
Scoring his first derby goal and it being the winner…
Yeah, it’s an amazing feeling, especially if it gives you the win as well. I’m just happy for everyone, we worked so hard day in and day out. I had to come in and today is the day, and now we need to look forward.
How much did Arsenal need those goals?
We’re pushing every day, as I say. The hardest thing in football is to get the ball in the net. I think we could have scored more today as well, but obviously we’re happy with the three points. Let’s celebrate tonight.
Putting pressure on the leaders …
Yeah, we always want to put pressure on them. We just can’t look at ourselves and that’s what we try to do in every game. We started today and as I say, we need to look forward now and take all the positives from today.
Let’s enjoy this win.
4 points, pressure on, all that matters
Pool have 2 games v Everton, city115 away , villa away, Bournemouth away . It’s on lads let’s push it home and add fresh saka to add 🌶
Oh and spurs for what it matters all in the next 8 weeks
What a world where Bournemouth away is a genuinely hard prospect
Sp*rs are the team that make me second happiest, they are so cr*p…
Arsenal have done the Premier League double over Tottenham for a fifth time (twice under Arteta and three times under Wenger).
Tottenham have won 5 points out of the last 27.
Arsenal are second in the league after a shocking season of injuries and bad decisions (and yes some poor performances and results) . 19 points ahead of spurs. 20 ahead of Utd and 8 ahead of city. Yet somehow people think Arteta is past his sell by date.
It means I’m gonna be late for work tommorow cause my addrenaline spike will have me up until 1am COYG!
“… and now we need to look forward…“
“The hardest thing in football is to get the ball in the net.”
“we need to look forward now…”
Is it me or is he making some subtle/subconscious inuendos towards our technical director and ownership.
I think it’s you.
as D. Draper once said, “I don’t think about you at all.” 🙂
(though it is probably me)
11/10 for everyone
Yes we need a striker, yes it should have been about 6-0 but bloody hell it feels good
Hell yes! (Are you the Ollie I know, who likes an occasional Jaeger?)
Just can’t enjoy these games against spurs. We need to be 3 nil up going into injury time before I can relax. No better feeling than when the whistle goes and it’s yet another win against these bunch of clowns
Yep I agree. Hated every second of that. What a win. COME ON
Watching on TV, just before MLS got carded, Bergvall cheated disgustingly. HE should have been carded. He pulled MLS toward him with an arm drag that a wrestler would have been proud of (I know because I used to be one), then flopped on the ground and grabbed his face. He’s only 18 and thinks this is how to be a real pro. Stay classy Spuds!
We really needed that. After the cup games, a loss against that lot could have tilted some fans over the edge. But we won! North London is Red and the title challenge is back on. COYG!
