Arsenal have announced the departure of young defender Josh Robinson, who has joined Wigan Athletic on a permanent transfer – the first deal of the January window.
Primarily a right-back, he was included in the first team squad on four occasions this season, making the bench for our Champions League encounters with PSG, Shaktar Donetsk, Inter Milan, and Monaco.
Speaking to the official Wigan site, the 20 year old said, “I am very excited to start my journey here. It’s a very big club, and I am looking forward to seeing what the season holds.
“I’ve been at Arsenal for a long time, and coming out of the Academy into a first-team environment is a big step but I feel like I am ready to take it.
“It’s a big decision – but I thought why not take the leap of faith and hopefully everything will go well.”
Best of luck to him at his new club. Interestingly (sort of), Wigan’s Sporting Director is Gregor Rioch, son of former Arsenal manager Bruce Rioch. A bit of early 2025 trivia for you.
Shocker: Arteta actually selling a right-back! Maybe some kind of new years resolution from the boss.
Did we sell or release? No mention of a fee anywhere
We need to mess with United and Sp*rs and make bids on Amad and Son since their contracts end this summer. We might actually get Amad for a good deal. United need money for pest control, roof/plumbing repairs, and compensation for Amiron when they sack him.
Son is trash now though, can’t outrun a tortoise
Here’s to you, little Robinson
(Gabi) jesus loves you more than you will know
Ho ho ho
Robinson crusoe much at the club.
But no man is an island.
So I think he needs to sail to new shores.
Bon Voyage Josh!
