Arsenal’s Dutch midfielder Victoria Pelova played her first minutes in an organised match since rupturing her ACL in June last year this afternoon. Pelova played 45 minutes for the U21s against Manchester United.
Pelova was on the scoresheet and started the game, she has been back in training since the turn of the year and is building up to her first team comeback. Amanda Ilestedt, who returned from maternity leave last month too, also played and scored in the game which Arsenal won 3-1.
It’s a crucial first step back into action for the 25-year-old who was among the club’s best performers last season. Her comeback will clearly be managed carefully but the player looks on course to be fit for Euro 2025 for Netherlands in the summer so long as there are no setbacks in her recovery.
Hurraaaaay!
Such an exciting player. Can’t wait to have her back.
