Former Italian international Gennaro Gattuso is planning a spell at London Colney where he’s hoping to pick up a few coaching tips from Arsene Wenger.
The 35-year-old World Cup winner, who played for Rangers before spending much of his career at AC Milan, already has a couple of managerial roles under his belt having taken charge of Swiss side FC Sion and Palermo, although in both cases he was shown the exit pretty quickly…probably because he’s a mental son-of-a-gun. Joe Pesci playing football comes to mind.
Speaking to French magazine So Foot, Gattuso revealed: “I’m going on a mini-internship at Real Madrid, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund and I’ll also be meeting [Belgium international coach] Marc Wilmots.”
While Arseblog News is wary of the fact Gattuso is a proper headcase – seemingly cut from the same managerial cloth as compatriot Paulo di Canio – we’ll allow him the freedom of Hertfordshire given he once tried to headbutt ex-Spurs coach Joe Jordan.
If history is anything to go by, he’ll be signed on a free transfer come january.
I feel in recent years we’ve missed a little bit of aggression. Would be a great signing!
Considering the team the man whose throat he choked belongs to, I’d welcome him at Arsenal anytime!
Now that’s exactly how you choke a chicken.
And when Bagpuss goes to sleep, all his friends go to sleep…
Gattuso has been a blinder for italy i watched him play, i remember that scene with joe jordan last year.
Have you had a two year fugue state or something? That was nearly three years ago.
Hey, that man has had a shorter trophy drought! I like that man!
not in rosicky years
Probably my favourite non-Arsenal player of the last couple of decades. I still think of Flamini as Gattuso Junior.
Gattuso finally reunites with flattuso.Flatusso will get to learn how to break d legs of terry, essien and ashley cole in one match and still get mourinho sent to d stands!!Yipee!!!!!
Is it really that hard to use “the” instead of “d”?
y
Gattuso + Flamini = one mother of a crater.
Any enemy of Spurs, is a friend of mine. Maybe he can beef up our defense even more, we sure need some no-nonsense defending. Nobody even tried to head the ball away before RvP went for the header!
Hate to say it… It was good movement followed by a good jump… Near post is normally Giroud’s as well, so let’s not dwell on that goal, lest we tarnish the image of the HFB
Arsenal had Vierra, Man U had Keane, AC Milan had Gattuso all fiery great characters of the game gave 100% for the clubs and country not many of this type about now and the game has moved on now to a non contact sport they would get sent off every week, note that is on the pitch Gattuso not with your hands round joe jordon should been harry’s lol
Headcase just about sums him up… But, I love the (non-Joey Barton-esque) brutality he brings to the game. Maybe he can give a few tips of physicality to Özil, Cazorla and Gnabry while he’s here too. They’ll be unstoppable with all their skill combined with the ability to scare anyone in the vicinity off the ball!
That photo has honestly made my day
Slightly less exciting story, as it seems he’s training with the world and his wife. I like the fact he’s meeting Marc Wilmots though. As if that’s not in connection with his coaching, but just a social engagement he wants to boast about.
If this guy were turned into an object, he would be a Swiss (Italian) army axe with mini axes replacing the corkscrew and stuff…
sign him in january some body has to break van pussy`s leg
As much as I loathe that Dutch skunk, wishing a leg break is just too extreme and wrong. I rather see him humiliated in a tackle that see him trip roll forward into the stands and land firmly up SAF’s arse. It would be like an infinity ring, seeing as Van Pursie enjoyed the un-lubed arm of Red Nose up his hole as is.
But I can’t stand the thought of the cunt scoring against us again!
On a different note, has anybody seen Ozil in the last few weeks?
What happens when Bould, Gattuso and TV 5 stare at you? u will combust. u will spontaneously combust!
Sign him up!!!
We need a player like Flambo busting the enemy.
I’d love to see him show up with the shaggy hair and beard, but with fake glasses and a grandmother full length winter coat, trying to act academic.
“Yes, Signor Wenger, I do indubitably agree that would be an exemplary, uh, tactic, you know, for a designed set play and so forth.”
“Please, Gennaro, go speak with Bould.”
“I DO INDUBITABL-”
“STEVE Bould!”
“Ah yes.”
I was always one who admir his passion for his team and football, ok some times he was too much but a fighter that will never give up and that’s what I think we need at Arsenal, of course we have Jack and now Flamini but this guy is real killer machine but at the same time unpredicted and that will cost any team to lose a game for nothing.
I still can’t believe what Van Pussy did. Arsene must still be devastated because he treated him like a son and stood by him through a rape allegation and countless injury plagued seasons. He made him into a world class striker only to discover that he was also a world class Judas/jerk. There is definitely such a thing as karma. I’ve seen it countless times over the years. Cruel and unusual punishment awaits the Dutch skunk, it’s just a matter of time. We’ll see who laughs last Robbing. Great celebration after your goal at OT. Make the most of it,… Read more »
Hated him more for that celebration as if we were his greatest enemy, imagine all the good things we’ve done for that ingrate, and he doesn’t even know or care about anything.
But am less concern about him, only for the team to get back after the interllul, to wining ways, keep the spirit up and focus on the trophies at stake. I believe we can do it.
COYG!!!
I have been a fan of Gattusso since quite some time. Initially hated him because of the World Cup 2006 finals, where he nullified a legend – Zidane’s performance. Very parallel to the concepts of Physics, a parallel illustration of an Anti-Particle.The way Gattusso worked his heart out that special day will be etched in my mind forever and nobody can stake claim in the match more than him (other than Materazzi ofcourse… smirk…) His match video compilation can be a source of inspiration to all. Though not as animal as Gattusso. I see Flamini in his mould. Flamini has… Read more »
I’m sort of amused by how a news article about Gattuso coming to get some coaching practice with Le Prof has morphed into a torrent of hate for van Persie. I’m sure a psychologist would find this veerrry iiinterestiiing…
This morning while reminiscing over how you hate this bloke over at the office, a lion walks up to your door step and says he wants to be your friend.
Something like this.
