Sagna backs Giroud to come good

Bacary Sagna has backed Olivier Giroud to overcome his current difficulties stressing that the striker is desperate to prove his worth at the Emirates.

The French striker has been left on the bench for the last two games against Liverpool and Bayern Munich after admitting he indulged in ‘the presence’ of ‘a lady’ at the team hotel on the eve of the win over Crystal Palace.

Speaking to French radio station RMC after last night’s game Sagna stated: “He acknowledged his mistakes. He is part of the team, he is among us.

“We know it is difficult for him at this time. He continues to work, he works more in training. It’s clear that this isn’t evident at the moment. He wants to do well and get back to his best.

“I do not think this story has rattled him. He wants to do well and show everyone that, despite the mistake he made, he is ready to fight to help the team and the France national team, too.”

For what it’s worth the boss has played down suggestions that Giroud is being punished claiming Yaya Sanogo’s selection for the Bayern showdown was merely a reward for his promising showing in the FA Cup last weekend.

“It was just a decision based on performance. When I play Giroud in every game, people reproach me from playing him in every game. When I rest him, people reproach me for resting him.

“Tonight I rested him so you should be happy. It was not punishment, it was just a decision tonight. Giroud is a strong character, and what happened doesn’t influence his behaviour on the pitch.”

Arseblog News suspects that Giroud will play on Saturday against Sunderland given Yaya Sanogo looked dead on his feet by full-time last night.

Moreover, seeing as he’s filled Per Mertesacker’s fine jar with enough cash to pay for the squad’s Christmas party he should be frothing at the mouth with enough self-loathing to bag a hattrick against Sunderland.

5/1 says Vic Akers’ provides him with a pithy “Je suis désolé” messaged undervest for the occasion.

Everybody makes mistakes (not trying to justify the act). Could not have come at a worse time though.

Xhani

Err, no pun intended.

Ash

Agreed. A mistake he could’ve avoided, but more important is what he does and how he acts from here on out.

argonaut

Cheating on your wife by having an affair with a model in the team hotel and in the process breaking curfew the night before a game is hardly “a mistake”. It was a pre-meditated, selfish act that disrespected his wife, family, employers and supporters.

Hurensohn

Not sure I could resist those temptations myself so I won’t criticize and I’m not sure anyone else who couldn’t (or even if they could) should be really. That anyone can comment on people’s personal lives without being intimately privy to it is beyond me. To many soaps on TV and nosy cunts writing for papers and magazines. It’s his life and he can do whatever he likes, whether you find it morally objectionable or not. Adultery isn’t a discussion for a football website either way and the only thing his fans and club can condemn him for is the… Read more »

Bendtner's Hair Band

Missing curfew the one time he was caught.

And I won’t judge how trivial it is without knowing how much it affects his performance. It is top level football, after all.

Bould's Eyeliner

honestly if it was just another day, I really wouldn’t have cared because it wasn’t his teammate’s wife. But why the night before match….

Heroldgoon

Giroud: “Err……i slipped and fell into this big chested models vagina, sorry wife”

Shiteside

If he hasn’t committed adultery I don’t see what the big deal is! He must of done something the twat!

Still though I’m sure hell bang one in against Sunderland and all will be fine again..

onvm

play miyaichi up front instead

Serge

What he did was wrong, but I can’t help laughing at this comment after the liverpool game.

“A night on Kos’s couch….would ya stop.
He’ll be banging Alex Curran tonight…..it would be a sin to be that handsome and faithful”

hahahahaha

Laurel

I just hope the team takes it all out on Sunderland.

WengersNoseHair

ElCapitano

I know im going to get a lot of shit for saying this because I know he’s loved by the fans. But I dont like him very much at all – I totally understand what he does for the team, his work ethic, and the way he brings people into the game with his hold up play etc.. But it just honestly fucks me off how wasteful he is in front of goal, I personally think he’s not good enough to lead the line for Arsenal. In several games this season his lack of composure in front of goal has… Read more »

O2

I’m just curious to know which games he’s been at fault for costing us points?

ElCapitano

The matches I was thinking about in particular, in all of these matches he had clear opportunities to score which he didn’t take.

Chelsea at home,
Southampton away,
Man United at away,
Man United at home,

I like Giroud.. he’s a link up player more than a clinical finisher (as we all know) which is more conducive to our overall game. he really helps to balance our team. if we had the same midfield, but say Van Persie up front, the midfield would hardly get involved in the box, because the ball would never be held up long enough for them to get up to support.. he also rarely goes missing except for when we’re really under the cosh but you wouldn’t expect the best of the best to be a goal threat when we’re defending… Read more »

Tom

Ain’t nobody got time for that!

neutral

That about RVP not holding the ball up is complete rubbish, he was, and is very good at receiving the ball and turning defenders inside out before making good passes or shots. And for all of Giroud’s size RVP is better at scoring headed goals.

Heroldgoon

I too have not taken to him as many other adoring gooners have, so im enjoying my bit of Sanogo atm, however if he brushes up on his ability infront of goal then he can have my ex…she has glorious gigantic tits aswell.

kafka

Well, fair enough. I’m trying hard to focus on supporting the team now and hoping the league form takes off. really takes off. This season won’t be complete until we absolutely take apart a strong team in anger. We’re showing so much defensive attitude this season, rugged 2-0 wins, its time we hit a team hard with that.

IloveDessi

I am not happy about what Giroud did. But it is not my task to judge him about this. His wife will decide.

I hope he can focus on the football because we need every player for the rest of the season.

Faxe

I think he is an excellent player, and someone who seems an excellent person too. Can’t judge him unless you’re absolutely certain you’d have turned those gigantic tits down. And if you are, you’re probably gay or delusional.

Daft Aider

Not entirely sure I can agree with that but it’s pretty damn funny all the same

Xhani

Brilliant point Faxe.

Bestie

Or married, or professional. However voluptuous her breasts may have been, he should have turned them down as he’s made his vows. Barring that, he could at least have waited and made it some post-match comfort.

Mpls

Never cared much for plastic, it’s just not the same. Quite frankly when I saw the ‘model’ I was disappointed.

Daft Aider

A hat-trick against Sunderland and we’ll be a little less judgemental, however a hat trick featuring the missus, the bit on the side and a players wife and it’s off to chelsea for you though

AllGunsABlazin

Mrs. Sagna IS pretty damn fine…

yorubaGooner

Yeah, I agree. A fine model as well. No wonder monsieur sagna finds it easy to keep his vows.

Simon

He needs a good spanking. You are a bad boy! A very bad boy!

*Smokin'Gunner*

Poldi been pimpin out his bitches to Giroud, extra cash and getting his strike rival in the dog house. No wonder our evil little German keeps on smiling.

http://youtu.be/7nbBHiMGSaU

Poldis bitches better be using jimmies!!

Get that man a fur coat and shotgun cane.

Simon

He needs a good spanking. He’s been a very, very bad boy!

Toby C

Sagna backs Giroud to come . . . . all over a glamour model.

Akaz

For the non UK people. What exactly is a glamour model? Why not just say model?

AllGunsABlazin

Because in our culture a model is any chick who can scrape together £200 for an amateur photographer with Photoshop skills to take 10 pictures of them in their underwear for their Facebook profiles.

Glamour models have class.

…….

Mpls

You’re not likely to see many Glamour models walking runways or in Vogue. Think 00’s. Frequently fake.

Or to put it another way, Glamour model = men’s magazines. Fashion model = women’s.

Heroldgoon

I assume you just have to pay extra for the “glamour model”

Andrew

If Sanogo inclusion against bayern was reward for one promising display against LFC, what does Pod need to do to get on the pitch?

duno

He probably needs to score a hattrick with both feet and with his back to goal too whilst assisting another 3 nonchalantly and of course with atleast a brace of goal line clearances. Fuck me! #OnlyWengerKnows

shitbird

Or not have a game go completely tits up like that before the sixtieth minute! The plan might have been to play him later, but we lost two subs and so the third was always only going to be for a midfielder.

Bergkamp's bronze statue

Just a shame he can’t score as well on the pitch as he can off it.

duno

Don’t be silly, he’s no Terry.

Heroldgoon

A man thinking with his penis?? why this is absurd! such has never happened before, never i say!

Goon

He needs time alone and out the spotlight

Mpls

Preferably BEFORE he crosses paths with another Glamour Model.

Heroldgoon

Also offT:

The Dailymail really get a kick off bashing the Arsenal. Just look at their by-line “Arsenal in meltdown” after what is no more than normal back and forths (Ozil and Flamini) that happens during football matches. Its pathetic when a paper has an agenda against us. They want us to have a crisis. Keyboard warriors as “writers, etc fuck those incompetent jokes. We are the Arsenal! no crisis here!

Mpls

Saw that. It was pathetic. A frame by frame chiseling of professionals having a business meeting, with wild eyed assumptions. My heart cries out for the soul-crushing existence it must be as a ‘writer’ for the Dailymail.

Ok, it doesn’t. Not one bit.

vbk

Feeling bad for Giroud. Any man with his charisma would attract all kinda girls in this world. Now he should also start working on increasing his level of self-control.

Ben

Urghhh she’s gross.

Why did I bother?

Arseblood

It’s just a little bit of pussy….

Ben

I love the quote “I am not an escort”…

Yeah right, that’s why you were photographed leaving 2 hours after arrival!

Ben

“Zut alore!… I’ve only got 50 pound notes, we’d better make it 2 hours!” 😀

LethGooner

Is there any proof that he slept with her? Not condoning getting lap dance from a model, but we dont know if anything actually happened. Afterall, she is denying it.

What if she was selling a product?

santori

So…what is the problem? he scored in bed, putting some late night practise between the (Bed) poles (not with the keepers hopefully, that wold be a bit kinky)

In my country, he is ‘strong’ and would be admired.

😀

Ozgun

Olly will redeem himself in the EPL run in. Of that I’m sure. The thing is that he’s not a greyhound or a Cheetah, he’s a ‘Carthorse.’ He gives 100 per cent each and every game and I’m sure that opposing defenders don’t really rate him that highly. Big mistake, huge. I think that if he worked in tandem with a ‘flyer’ we would benefit greatly. Serge, Theo and the Ox should be groomed for that role and I would also love to see Arsene sign Loic Remy. He’s been impressing me for years despite playing with little or no… Read more »

Why are we so quick to judge? He made a mistake. He has seen his error and apologised to us all. At one point or the other we have all made mistakes and asked for forgiveness from others. Why act like saints? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. COYG

african gunner

When is super ramsey coming back By the way, Cos i missed him dearly,he’s the reason we are not winning lately. As for giroud?he’s not good enough for us, can’t run with the ball, can’t shoot, can’t beat a marker he’s not aggressive.

voldermort

Personallyhe he can shag who he like I don’t give a toss it’s his life. What pissed me off is that it was supposedly before a big game and that he may have lied to wenger. He’s a good player works his nuts off for the team and that’s why we love him. But hes not tthe striker we need to win us the title or to get the best form Ozil. He just isn’t mobile enough or sharp enough in for front of goal. Il always love the guy for his effort but I want my team to win… Read more »

Thierry Bergkamp

I can’t believe somebody really said that Giroud holds the ball up better than RVP! That’s scandalous. It’s all good supporting your players, but don’t live in denial. It pisses me off hearing gooners justifying Giroud’s place in the team, and ability because he ” holds the ball up and brings the midfield into play”. The man is a striker for fucks sake, he’s there to score goals. Why have the leagues most creative midfield, to then have a fraud playing with his back to goal? He has no pace, has never taken a defender on and beaten him. At… Read more »

Momo (@MuhamLAD)

I’ll be honest, I’ve not criticised Giroud once but seeing Sanogo play was a breath of fresh air to me. I actually felt as though our number 9 could score. I’d like to see more of Sanogo in the PL at some point.

heihaci

he needs a rest anyway and he can fight for his palce against Sanogo

Angolan Girl Who Loves The Gunner

well, hope he scores against sunderland, but he says he didn’t commit adultery so what…?!!!! he just invited the model to his room to chat, with only your underwear on????!Right…

But still, he’s an arsenal player and as long as someone is, lets support them no matter what happens, because they play for this beautiful club that we all love and admire.COYG!
