Arsenal have confirmed the release of a number of players from the club.
Nicklas Bendtner leaves after joining in 2004 and scoring 47 goals for the club. His most profilic season was 2008-9 when he netted 15 times, but after falling out of favour he had loan spells at Sunderland and Juventus before his final campaign at the club when he scored two league goals.
Park arrived from Monaco and nobody had a goddam clue why. He went to Celta Vigo on loan, scoring three times, and this season joined Watford but barely played because, basically, he’s terrible. If somebody told you he was a money laundering scam it would all make sense.
The two young players have had their moments. Aneke has done very well at Crewe so good luck to him wherever he ends up, while centre-half Boateng is set for a summer Inter-railing around Europe after his father George paid for the ticket.
We wish them all luck in the future. Some of them are really going to need it.

Any news on Tommy Eisfeld? I thought he’d be drafted into the squad this season but haven’t heard a thing about him all season. I thought he looked well exciting and he’s 20 now so must be there or there abouts.
It will be interesting to see who gets promoted this summer, with not only Eisfeld, but Bellerin as well, and as one of the other articles says, what are they going to do with Miquel and Afobe? — both are in the 21-22 age zone where its pretty much first team or gone. @Chairman – I barely got past the first sentence either, simply because it’s just so wrong. Arsenal is not so cynical a club as to buy someone just to sell shirts in a particular part of the world. We bought Park because we thought he would improve the club. We turned out to be wrong. So we released him.
In the English league, Park was not a very good player. And Park is not better than Sanogo. That’s all.

On top of being confused because of his arrival to Arsenal, I’m confused to this day about Park because he was (and, as far as I know, still is) captain of his national team. It’s not like South Korea has no clue about football.
But until very recently we’ve had very few players in the international scene. Now it’s a little better, around on par with the number of Japanese internationals. He’s also not that popular with S. Korea either, at least not in recent years. Used to be a hero…

He looked very good to me every time I saw him play for the Arsenal reserves and I find it a strange decision to let him go. Given that everyone is saying that we need a strong midfield enforcer (Patrick Vieira, Yaya Toure type) I would have though that Aneke would have been worth a start or two.
From everything I’ve heard/read about his time at Crewe he really hasn’t progressed much as an all around CM but has played much more offensively like in a #10 role. This may be part of the reason why we thought it decent to move on.

Releasing Aneke is just sad, where was his opportunity? you don’t loan out the biggest English talent in the youth set up see him play well, score goals and then just let him go, why loan him at all? Was he another bad attitude Jay Thomas? Anyone got any inside info on this cos I’m not satisfied.
He just didn’t have a realistic entry into the side. He’s not as accomplished as the guys ahead of him and wouldn’t have gotten a look in next season so it’s only fair to him, for his development, to continue elsewhere as much of a shame as it is.

He had a good spell on loan, he clearly has talent – but where and when would he get a game with our current midfield roster? Our midfield is our strongest area these days. So it’s the honourable thing to do to release him and let him find a spot elsewhere.
I’m a little bummed Park Ju Young never worked out. I never quite understood his transfer but I wanted to see a player that was non European, African, or South American work out for Arsenal.
