Andrei Arshavin says that the North London derby tomorrow is a chance for Arsenal to get their season going properly.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, the pocket-sized Russian said, “It’s a crucial moment for us because if we win we can break this season … in a good way, in our way.
“It will give us confidence that we can beat a good team, because Spurs are a good team at the moment”.
And asked about what it was like to play a game for Arsenal at White Hart Lane, he said, “You should be prepared to hear a lot of bad words about you and your club. You should concentrate only your football and show you are strong, show them you come on to the pitch to win”.
The idea of Arsenal’s players coming on to the pitch would certainly send quite the message to Spurs, and continue the trend started by former Gunner Philippe Senderos.
However, after a disappointing performance in midweek against Olympiacos it remains to be seen if Arshavin will keep his place now that Benayoun is fit again. Much will depend on the fitness of Theo Walcott and Gervinho, both of whom will have late tests tomorrow.
Heh. I can no longer read anything that Andrei says without hearing his Arsecast voice in my head.
Well, maybe if the lil’ Leningradian decides to play as well as he talks, then I will be happy.
He has seemed in a daze for the last few games.
Arsh will be great against the spuds! Look hove he tries to emulate the dreaminess of Pires. Finally he understands what it takes to be great.
That boy has a mouth on him. I do wish he would run his legs the way he runs his mouth, because when he does, he is menacing and a handful.
Enough talk of money and our troubles 3 points tomorrow and the world will seem a
Wonderful place. Hopefully derby veterans will instill into the new guys just how much it means to beat these scratchers. Can’t fucking wait.
Any post that uses the term scratchers deserves a ‘Like’. I’m in.
“The idea of Arsenal’s players coming on to the pitch would certainly send quite the message to Spurs,” ?????
A big game of soggy penalty spot. Then they force Gallas or Adebuymoron to lick it up.
Arshavin could be an Arsenal great but his work rate is poor, he doesn’t do enough to help out in defending always leaving his flank exposed and heaping pressure on our already shaky defence, like most Arsenal players they talk the talk but don’t walk the walk and that stems from the Dictator Wenger and his blind policy and woeful tactics in defending
Action speaks louder than words
[…] Players have come out and called for the team to put a good showing tomorrow, saying the win is important as it will show we can win a good team. Arshavin, the lazy bugger for one, has said: […]
Yes, it’s a crucial game. Which is why Arshavin should sit it out.
I do believe arshavin is do a big game. I’m calling a 3 nil to the arsenal with a little Russian hat trick. C’mon arsenal, let’s smash these twats.
considering his lazy, ineffective play lately i dont really have time for his comments. he’s not the one to be rallying the troups….
we’re due a ‘special’ moment i feel….RVP winner in th 93rd after a heartening, brave battle.

Here we go again!
For the 150,000,000th time in the last four years, we have some managed to lose a game in which we were the better side. And against an rubbish, piece-of-shit Spurs team who will probably struggle to make the Thursday Night Club.
Why?
Because our six-million-quid-a-year manager can’t fucking coach a team to defend properly.
Please fuck off now, Mr Wenger.
