Exactly my thought, wanted ramsey in particular to start in cm and that means only one between ozil and santi would start to give us a balanced team, starting cazorla in cm against the huge likes of fellaini, rooney and blind is a mistake. Welbeck needs to play this game. Wenger understands the symbol. If he was crap he wouldn’t play him but as another good option, Wenger would always show class to his player. The burden is on Danny’s shoulder now. Hope it does not prove to be too much of weight for him to carry.

Ramsey has only just returned from injury, and wasn’t exactly replicating last year’s form beforehand. As for Welbeck instead of Giroud, I assume Wenger believes Danny will be extra motivated against his former side.
He needs to be careful with Ramsey with the issues he’s had this season and will surely look to bring him in during the second half along with Giroud. Giroud has had a big impact when he has come in as a sub and can do so again today, but in a more open game than we’ve had against a defense that struggles at times I am glad to see he is going with three players that can dribble at people and take advantage of Ozil’s passing vision with Welbeck, Sanchez and Chamberlin.
No, Danny will be up for it and will score a hat trick.
I too have faith that this is the right decision. If Ramsey were fit that would be nice to harry their midfield but if he’s not fit what can you do. At least he’s on the bench.

Thank smeg, Michael Oliver is the referee. IMHO he’s the best ref in the league this year (of an admittedly very poor crop), but more importantly he’s the only ref this entire season that hasn’t fucked us every chance he’s got. Hopefully he’ll spot all of Rooney’s dives and Fellaini’s elbows and the Mancs will finish the first half with nine players on the pitch.

Not enough defensive cover in midfield, we are sure get out-muscled, also Alexis playing on the flanks is rendering him less effective. Whereas oezil earns plaudits for doing absolute Fuck all, save a few fancy flicks, most often in his own half.
