Sky Sports have selected three more of Arsenal’s Premier League fixtures for live broadcast in May.
Two fixtures – the trip to Hull City and the hosting of Swansea – will now be played on Mondays (the 4th and 11th respectively), while our second visit to Old Trafford will be the main game on Super Sunday on 17th May.
Arsenal’s postponed match with Sunderland at the Emirates had already been selected for broadcast and will be played on Wednesday 20th May.
Depending on how we’re doing in the league, there’s a chance our final league game against West Bromwich Albion could also be on TV.
Confirmed televised fixtures in May
Monday 4th May – 8pm Hull City v Arsenal (Sky Sports)
Monday 11th May – 8pm Arsenal v Swansea City (Sky Sports)
Sunday 17th May – 4pm Manchester United v Arsenal (Sky Sports)
Wednesday 20th May – 7.45pm Arsenal v Sunderland (Sky Sports)
Hurray! Monday night football. Away fans’ wet dream
welcome to Hull
Living in the north of England, I can confirm it is indeed a shithole
2 Monday nights and a sunday. They sure did their best to pick the worst kickoff times…
Dear Traveling Arsenal Fans,
Fuck you!
Dear Traveling Swansea Fans,
Fuck you!
Dear Traveling Sunderland Fans,
Fuck you!
Love,
Sky
Dear Working American Fans,
Fuck you, too!
I am sure time zones and inconvenience to American viewers is the first factor considered by the decision makers at Sky… How fucking American of you. And I can talk ’cause I’m one too (but I usualy keep it as secret as possible – it’s not a good look in the rest of the world)
I get that you have beefs with American culture, but that was a misfire of a comment.
Funny. I doubt the rest of the world identifies the typical American as a football loving, arseblog following Gooner.
Of course, I do feel empathy and understanding for the entire global fan base for their plight as a result of the schedule changes. I just couldn’t think of a comment that succinctly expressed all of those feelings as a piggyback to A Yank in King Arsene’s West Stand’s clever post.
Fortunately I have a boss who is very understanding and supportive of my Arsenal addiction, and he lets me take two and a half hour lunches to watch the midweek matches. Much easier than getting up before the birds for a weekend kickoff.
PS I know I’m in a minority here and these times really, really suck for the other 29,999,999 Gooners in the world.
Dear 99% of Arsenal fans, you can now watch the game on TV instead of BBC live text.
No thanks necessary.
Kind Regards,
Sky
And that would have been fine if Sky changed it before the tickets went on sale. But they didn’t. Because they don’t give a solitary fuck about fans who get off their arses and go to games. Neither, it seems, do you.
And the Cup Final on the 30th, fingers crossed.
The above matches are all our fixtures in May, bar West Brom, which might be televised. Pretty good.
And all our April matches are televised too!
Well this really puts a shitter on the Arsenal America weekend in Boston.
I appreciate the difficulties for travelling fans, but for Dublin Gooners, this is happy days!
I hope playing after all the others around us on so many weekends, works as a positive rather than piling on more pressure.
We’ll already be a game behind (and thus 3 potential points behind) everyone else due to the rearranged Sunderland fixture.
They had better show them on TV here in the US as well, so that I can record them and watch after work. If they only stream it online, there goes 1/4 of the remaining season for me.
All BPL in the US are available on live streaming and also available to watch online “as live” after the conclusion of the match for up to one week. Just need a cable/satellite subscription.
I know they are all available for live streaming, but I’m not sure if it’s possible to get to the online page to watch ‘as live’ without seeing the scoreline on the site somewhere else. If not, I’ll have to get someone in my family to set it up for me and hit play before I get there haha. Do you know if they put it up immediately after the game is over to watch, or does it take a while?
If you’re in Canada, all the midweek games are live on at least one of the Sportsnet channels.
Where I live virtually i see ey official Arsenal game live for the entire season. From pre-season friendlies, Emirates cup, Capital One, FA,BPL to UCL even Europa League(If it happens we end there one day) through DSTV. I wonder why in UK there is such a hussle when it comes to showing live matches.I guess that is the only joy of being an overseas’ Arsenal fan. Though at times i go to sleep at 2 PM local time just to watch my beloved Arsenal, it’s well worth it even if we lose. One of my biggest wish is one day to… Read more »
*correction it’s 2.AM not PM. I guess i lost the sense of time…hehe!
The joy of being an arsenal fan in north London is I can go to the games. If I could still afford to.
Good luck to you, I hope you realize your dream.
That means all our matches from now until the end of the season are being broadcast.
We must be doing something right.
Could work in our favour (could fuck us over). But hey were used to this kinda shit by now. FFS even so.
now i cant bring my son to the late games.
What bullshit! Had booked to take my 2 sons to the Swansea game as only game this season. Now on a school night which means home by midnight. Anyone know if I can get refund?
I’d be interested in buying those three tickets if you’re actually considering selling, coming up from Toronto for the week.
2 days off post United, have to win to allow momentum to carry us through..
Should be a good chance to play the likes of Arteta, Wilshere, Diaby, Gnabry, etc
Fuck’s sake! Monday’s the night I play football. My hour exercise for the week. I hate Monday night football. If should be played at a more traditional time like 2pm on a Sunday.
Anyone know a good bar in nyc to watch the Liverpool game in?
Not the blind pig… They have the nerve to show chavs on a side screen during The Arsenal
I always marvel at how the people in England don’t actually get to watch every game live while here in India, every single Arsenal, United, City, Chelsea and most Liverpool and Spurs games are on live television, while all 10 matches can be viewed on their website.
But how many live Arsenal games do you get to go to in India? Marvellous
I dont get this.. do they not televise every arsenal game over there? I would go mental if my beloved gooners werent on tv every week. We get all premier league games live here in Australia..
No they don’t. Saturday 3pm games are not televised so as attendance to lower league games (who play at 3pm on Saturdays doesn’t drop).
Also we can actually go to watch live games as and when we can afford it which far outweighs watching us play on TV.
