Welbeck ruled out of United return

Arsene Wenger seems to have ruled out Danny Welbeck from Sunday’s clash with Manchester United.

Yesterday the manager appeared to hold out some hope that he might be recovered sufficiently from a hamstring strain to be fit to face his former club, but at his press conference today he revealed it’s just a touch too soon.

“Welbeck is short a fraction for Sunday but he is not far away, he said. “I would love to have him available but we will have to do without him.”

Wenger expects Aaron Ramsey to be fit as the Gunners look to bounce back from the disappointing defeat to Swansea on Monday night.

A win would secure automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League with the manager keen to avoid an August qualifier.

“Not to have that stress over your head from the first day again is vital,” he said.

It’s a shame, would love to have seen Welè do it again against ManUre.

GreekTragedy

Totally off topic but who’s hearing these Gotze to arsenal rumours and salivating?! If Santi were to move, and I bloody hope he doesn’t, there are few in the world I would want more. Interesting story to come from telegraph though, not your usual click bait nonsense.

Heroldgoon

He would look absolutely stunning in red and white. That is all i can say.

CB

I’m yawning.

Transfer speculators, would you waste my/our/your time somewhere other than a news article please, though feel free to speculate there as much as you want.

Lass

Bs as long as there are no reliable sources

Bobbyp

Like a lot of transfer stories, this came from some throwaway comments from an ex-player about Gotze and some ‘journalist’ put two and two together, came up with 9 and the next thing we are linked. I’m pretty sure we were never mentioned by the ex-player who started this, but the papers want website clicks so link in as many teams as possible. It’s bollocks.

Arsene's Zip

I don’t read anything other than arsenal.com and Arseblog these days. The amount of click baiting bullshit, ITKs, and bitter ex-players (*cough*StuartRobson*) just infuriates me.

CB

Top, top quality advice.

I’m told we may be missing out on transfer speculation ‘excitement’ but personally happy to find other things to get excited about.

WestSideGooner

They start the rumors and they end it in a week. Watch out for another article which says the deal is OFF or some random bullshit. Who cares. Its all non sense anyways

My “favorite” fake news articles are later, when the player moves elsewhere and we’re said to have been “SNUBBED!” or “GAZUMPED!” and some of the more gullible Arsenal fans get worked up about “missing out on” a player we were probably never after.

Rich

Gotze would be nice, but the one I’d love is Isco.
Taking Cech from Chelsea for £10mill and seeing That cunt Mourinho frothing from the mouth would be hilarious.

Gooneron

How can the sight of froth in the mouth be hilarious?

Left

I’ve got this hunch he may prove crucial for us in the Cup final…

gooner

why are we going after Gotze. We should be looking at buying Suarez Neyma and Messi for 500m.

Ok, meant this to be a joke on the papers and the lazy rumors but I just realized it’s Us and Barcelona and the things we do to those cunts are just mundane!

Cliff Bastin

Gutted we won’t get a repeat of van gaal’s face when welbeck scores the winner.

Possession

We’ve just signed Morgan Schneiderlin according to the click baiters, well the Daily Star can’t possibly have it wrong can they……

Alexstratz

Bad news, he’s one of the few who knows how to win against United.

Heroldgoon

We’ve lacked pace upfront in recent games. Some of those over the balls to Ramsey (that he failed to reach) would have been perfect for Wele to lutch on. SHAME.

Man Manny

Would have been on the bench anyway so no hard feelings. Don’t think he’s match fit enough to make considerable impact in such a high-profile game.
Stick to the same team; this is likely to be a more open game which will suit us. I don’t see us losing this.

David C

Well I guess someone else has to score the winning goal now!

santori

Shame really cos he would be up for it.

Have to remember that Welbeck is still only 23/24yrs and settling into the team.

Wenger will be expecting him to step up next season and he will need more regular playing time in rotation with Giroud.

TENNESSEE

Sounds like a SEASON ENDING INJURY to me.

jimbo

Rooney a doubt for Sundays game should be a bonus. We don’t need to go gung ho for this one.

Ospina -Bellerin – Per – Vermaelan – Monreal – Ramsey – Coq – Cazorla – Theo – Giroud – Ozil

I will settle for a point but three would make my weekend
