Bellerin keen to transfer momentum to next season

Hector Bellerin has urged Arsenal to finish this season strongly, then pick up where they left off at the start of the next campaign.

Arsenal’s opening to this current season was disappointing and, more than anything, the reason why a genuine title challenge never materialised. However, after some storming form in 2015, the young Spaniard believes the ingredients are there to improve in 2015-16.

“I think that we just need to finish the season on a high,” he told Sky Sports, “so then hopefully we can pick up at the beginning of next season and start the league and the competitions with a bit more authority, which is something we did not do this season.

“We have some great players – I am not sure if more players are coming in the summer – and I think the team feels way stronger than it was before.

“All the new players that have come in are now all together and every new signing is feeling like an important player, which is good.”

And ahead of tomorrow’s Old Trafford clash, Bellerin is calling for the same effort that saw the Gunners run out 2-1 winners in the FA Cup back in March.

“We beat them in the FA Cup,” he said, “so I think we need to play the same type of game and stick together.

“We had a little accident against Swansea at home the other day, but we need to think about all the other games that we have played before that game, and we know that we have been doing great.”

Let’s hope the response is quick, ruthless, and ends up with the Dutch Skunk sitting in a puddle of his own piss and tears.

If starting the headline with “Bellerin keen to transfer” was meant to make my heart skip a beat, then mission accomplished.

brucejuice

yep. Guy who wrote the article knew the effect that sly title will have on readers.
These media people I tell huh…

Paul

I read it as….. “Bellerin keen for momentum in transfers next season” – (like he was saying..” the players around me are shit”!)

Paul

Why am I getting thumbs down for saying what I read it as?

Xxxrob

Because it’s the Internet lol
I’m with original guy who commented I shit myself when I read the headline then I composed myself haha

How old is Dani Alves?

ErectCoq

He’s 40.

CB

Sounds a bright lad.

Pace, great touch and intelligence, a winning combination. And will improve given his youth.

*I* am urging Arsenal to finish the season strongly.

GreekTragedy

I’m thinking of a name change. Sick of GreekTragedy. Is ‘Mein Bergkampf’ a little too controversial?

Paul

I didn’t know names could be changed!

I think we should all put our alternative names below…

Arsene In or Arsene Out just to make things easy for the rest of us to know what to expect.

Why would you want to reference hitler in your name?

Kosc' Other Pocket

As a seasoned gooner, it’s hard to imagine us winning the league trophy with Wenger still in charge. He seems not to grasp the challenges of premier league now as he did back then so as to come up on top of the pack… any ways, fingers crossed. Bellerin may just be right. Also, does this ‘momentum’ mean going all the way to winning the league? Same old Arsenal, but still COYG!

Paul

Not really the right moment for Manager bashing me thinks…

*yawn*

Henry! Chance!! Goal!!!

They are so predicable these wenger out crowd. They come out after ever loss.

Dylan

“Bellerin keen to transfer *gasps* momentum to next season oh.”

Ernstein

Outside of Schneiderlin,I think we need to seriously look at another player in the shape of Saidu Mane!!! He has everything to compliment Giroud and he seems like a player who can get something out of tight games for you while up-front! He has power, grit, pace, a good eye for goals, good vision, doesn’t get outmuscled once with the ball inside the 18, he also has gotten a accustomed to the EPL.. To me, he is one of these low profile players whom you could ‘steal’ and two, three years down the line when you look back as a… Read more »

Dylan

Is this purely because of his record time hat trick?

Ernstein

@Dylan, nope! I’ve held this opinion about him for a while now, has nothing to do with his performance in just a single game, if the record-time hat trick achieved anything, it only further boosted my admiration for him as a player! Maybe you’ll understand me better if you took out time to re-watch some of goals and over all play on youtube!

First four words of title had me sweating

Fatgooner

Having watched the Saints v Villa game today I just can’t see us losing the Cup Final. Yes, even negative Fatgooner simply can’t imagine us getting beat by that shower of excrement. Being a Gooner for forty years, I’ve seen it all: defeat to West Ham in ’80; losing to Luton at Wembley from 2-1 up; an 8-2 thrashing at Old Trafford etc. But Villa are fucking awful, and if we don’t comfortably see them off on the 30th then every player in that squad should emigrate to North Korea at the final whistle – or be sent there as… Read more »

Phewww. Lol

santori

Was at a children’s competition today. Plenty of Arsenal shirts. Much loved club we are. Not one single Chelsea jersey and they won the league! Hope Soton get 5th. Media as per usual with Liverpool bias were saying they had nothing to play for. They could beat crumby Liverpool if anything on goal differential! Liverpool are poor. They have spent a large sum of money with their genius manager and have fallen short of top 4. You won’t see the media writing headlines with the words mauled by Palace at Anfield. Its pathetic. Spoke to an Italian Roma fan today… Read more »

Why anyone would have doubted Bellerin was part of our first team plans start of the season is beyond me.

Why they would want Jenkinson is even more perplexing.

NIght and day.

Bellerin has the technical skills we need on the right plus a good attacking instinct. Debuchy is a worthy back up. Chambers cut his cloth as a RB for Soton. Likely he will audition at Cback but reinforce at RB and may yet land in that position in a couple of seasons.

No Jenkinson. He’s a good player just not technical enough for our game.

texasgooner

On an unrelated note, what do you all think about giving Martinez a chance to start the remaining games? Although I really like Szczesny and Ospina, I feel like both have showed their limitations this season. It might be worth it to give Martinez another shot to see how he compares.

Wyn

Probably not the best time for rotation in that position. I feel that both Ospina and Szczesny are currently more competent goalkeepers than Martinez and the last thing we need at Old Trafford is a shaky keeper.

FriscoGooner

Interesting idea Tex.. (ponders). If Fats is right then bring him on at Wembley after we’re up by 4.

Mein Bergkampf

It is done!

Ferngunner

Bring back the real fats……hehe…..Or not

Beller..IN!

He’s been ridiculously good. His high point being that goal vs the mugs. I was abit reserved when he started soley coz he was young and didn’t feel the need to take responsibility he played with the notion that “as long as i get this ball off my feet its not my problem anymore” that thinking was dangerous.

However after an extended run in the team he has adopted a good fighting mentality and rarely wastes any balls. (Also recovers when he does)

So again Beller…IN!

Finsbury Park Gooner

Am I the only one who chortled at ‘having a little accident’ at home last week?!
