So he isn’t the marquee top quality striker rather a dark horse. But we haven’t been in the habit of spending at that range either and we bought two this summer. And after all who was Vardy or for that matter Riyadh Mahrez or Ngolo Kante. No one fancied them to go all the way last season and they were all late bloomers/journey men. No one had high expectations for Thiery Henry when he came either. He was a promising young winger who flattered to deceive at Juventus before the gaffer turned him into a CF. In this case, of… Read more »
This guy is good
I can’t work out whether he’s got serious pace or the Spanish defenders are just pretty damn halfhearted. Probably a little from column a and a little from column b. After all, this is a league Squillaci flourished in…
brilliant
He’s more similar to Griezmann than Vardy. Not world class, but I’d take him over Vardy any day of the week. See him getting 11-17 in the league if he really settles in. Alexis will love this guy though.
After all the hysteria amongst some segments of the masses (and the media)….never in doubt.:D
Wish him good luck with Arsenal (25 goals) and a better hair cut.
I don’t think Wenger will give him much of a chance to start up front. He might just let Oli G play up front and make Perez play on the wings or keep him as a backup option for a 70th min sub when we need that goal. So I don’t think he’ll get a chance to score 20+ but no doubt about his talent. He has a solid burst of pace and can turn quickly, I hope he gets his chance to shine though!
Wish him all the best! COYG!
@Wengaboy Disagree. How many months did Giroud not score for in 2016 ?? Perez is a genuine option to offer movement, pace and more importantly finishing. Have we not forgotten how many chances Giroud misses despite his obvious work rate and good for the team?
Agree that he’s a genuine option but like you said, Giroud went on a massive scoring drought but what did Wenger actually do about it? Nothing. He just waited for Giroud to score again. Having confidence in a player is good, but not at the cost of the team. I hope this changes with Perez because he does seem like genuine threat.
The bloke looks fast and skilfull But that’s also my concern wenger has his favorites and I worry he may not get the chance he deserves.
Wenger bought him to play as a 9. He’s what walcott used to think he was.
I believe Perez can be the highest goal scorer in the epl playing with the current supply line in arsenal
Shocking soundtrack
He looks well spicy!!
I would love to see this guy play up top with giroud in a 442 with a diamond in the middle. We all know the best comes from giroud when he has someone playing off him. You don’t need someone who is ‘world class’ as long as the partnership is.
won’t happen. We don’t have the squad for that. Maybe on occasion against certain sides, but not regularly. Otherwise we would have already seen Giroud partnered with Theo or Alexis by now.
Well I’m a bit excited : )
Looking at the Perez critically he holds and moves ball in a similar way as Messi, I stand to be corrected
Some nice skill in there! I look forward to seeing what he can do with Ozil and Xhaka feeding him up front or on the wing.
Can’t wait to see him play. Even though I know it’s la liga but His goals do look impressive and shows alot of energy and passion. Great to see
He seems like who we hoped Theo would be by now.
Spot on. I was just thinking this means we should definitely get rid of Theo, but that’ll never happen.
I would agree with you… except that we got rid of Campbell & Gnabry, who are the players I’d want to take Theo’s place in the squad. Now I think we’d better keep Theo, if just for depth. Plus he’s played well so far this season. Hopefully he’s turning over a new leaf!
He looks great
He and Alexis will run defences ragged
whats impressive about him is: – his sudden burst of pace – anticipation of tackles, allowing him to avoid them all the while keeping the ball – dribbling skills. on this front, he really seems like a luis suarez minus the racist bitey vampire parts 😀 – timing of the runs during the one-twos.. – not being scared when hounded by 2-3 players. – his never ending running akin to Alexis. i am super excited and i sincerely hope he benefits from all the creativity oozing out of Özil and the rest of the Arsenal team.. dunno if he can… Read more »
He’s got a lot of pace. I hope he plays against Southampton. Go on Wenger unleash the Jedi Master!
Video doesn’t include an absolute screamer he scored in his final months in Ukraine, smashing a volley in from outside the box direct from the corner kick. Tastyyyyy
Or the one where he chased down a hopeless ball to the byline, all the way from the another postal code, bullied the (surprised) defender off it, then waltzed his way around some defenders and smashed it home. Hunger, desire, aggression and skill.
I am excited, this guy is aggressive enough for the premier league
I am no football analyst, but Perez looks good. Room for excitement this season. Let us see how he combines with the gang of 4. Messrs Ozil,Sanchez,Walcott(?) and Santi. Must eat my words, Walcott has put in quite a stint against Watford—keep it up. My Arsenal teddy bear is usually upside down in my Arsenal mug.Dare I upright her ; or am I tempting fate? I think I’ll chance it . Suddenly the world seems a brighter place.
Little bit Marc Overmars in dribbling style.
This guy should suit Arsenal’s style of play which is the most important thing. Not just buying big names but buying players that improve the team. He can also play on the wing and with Giroud if you need more goal threat on the pitch.
