Arsenal will travel to Championship side Preston North End in the third round of the 2016/17 FA Cup.
The clubs have met before in the famous old tournament, back in January 1999. Having gone 2-0 down, the Gunners staged a comeback as goals from Luis Boa Morte and Marc Overmars, and two from Emmanuel Petit secured passage to the fourth round.
The last time the sides met was in the League Cup in 1999 when goals from Nwanko Kanu and Stefan Malz gave us a 2-1 win.
The matches will take place across the weekend of 6-9 January 2017, with television making the schedule as ludicrous as they possibly can.

Win or lose I wont mind either. Primarily Just want us to be all in for the league this season, and go as far as possible in the ucl.
Was it last year Preston played Man U and only lost because Rooney dived in the penalty box? Bearing in mind they were playing a Man U of today and not of old but they put up a more than respectable fight. They were better IMO. If they play like that against us we’ll have a tough opponent. Should be a good game.
I hope we take this one seriously and don’t go in with the attitude that the match is already won. A Championship team away is a difficult draw.
