What a fun night that was, pretty much everything went right for us as we beat Basel 4-1 and Ludogorets took points off PSG so we top the group.

Has someone else noticed that we are not only having a depth in our suad which we never had before in my opinion (not even around 2000 we had such a strong bench with still a few first team players out injured) But I think even more fantastic is the fact that we have so many different types of players for every position. Starting with the goalkeepers, our 5 central defenders (where only Mustafi and Koscielny are quite similar) but Mertesacker, Gabriel and Holding all offer something different. Not had this feeling for such a long time!
Depth is one thing but being this versatile is something else! I feel also for a long time quietly confident that this squad is capable of some success this season. The belief within is apparent and it is obvious by their body language that they trust one another.
I know it’s not February yet! But like most goners I really feel optimistic .
