I wish I had a good smell for goal in the box

Brendan Rodgers' self-portrait

Instant classic, that.

Make mine a Swiss miss

Nice to see AW’s smiling face, hope we see a lot more of this season 🙂

sahil

Yeah, love his smiling face!

Rich

If anyone deserves success it’s AW.

MerteXhaka

Keep the smell for goals going, Lucas!

Not sure why the media keep getting muddled in the head.

They are making it out as if we scrapped through and were lucky because PSG were charitable.

Or maybe just maybe PSG aren’t that terribly good.

I mean they can beat Ludogrets at home and we have DOUBLE their GD.;)

Reality check.

We have a 1 in four chance at the moment of drawing Bayern or Real.

Whatever, the way we are playing, they should be afraid of us.:D

Coq au Vin

If we play like we can (and have done in the last two matches), I don’t fear Bayern or RM.

Spooner

Slightly off-topic. Does anyone know if/when we’ve had 2 different strikers score hat tricks in successive games before?

Goonermonkey

That’s a pub quiz question! One that I don’t have the answer two. I’ll just get a round in, anyone want pork scratchings? Love to know the answer.

GoonerfromOz

Henry and Ian Wright have scored consecutive hat-tricks but don’t know about two players scoring hat-tricks in two successive games. Think it’s the first time

GoonerfromOz

My bad
Robert Pires and Jermaine Pennant (!) both scored a hat-trick each in just one game, a 6-1 win over Southampton, before Freddie Ljungberg scored three against Sunderland the following week.

Great digging, thanks. Hopefully Walcott will bag a trio against Stoke for an hat-trick of hat-tricks. It’s his turn.

Arsepedant

I hope so too, since the Stoke match is my annual trip across the pond to watch Arsenal, and I’d like to see a lot of goals.

Little Mozart

Our dominance last night was well deserved, and Lucas’ clinical finishing was a joy to watch.

Chamakh

We still avoid Barca and Athletico who are probably the worst match ups for us. Real and Bayern are elite but fancy our chances more in those fixtures.

Jim wall

Don’t fear any team just make sure we win first game at home and not concede we are playing well away from home

Arsepedant

The second game is at home, not the first.
