Alexis Sanchez has sounded a positive note going into the new year by saying he believes Arsenal have the quality to win trophies.
The Chilean expressed his happiness at his increasing importance to the team this season, and says he’s focused on making fans happy by bringing silverware to the club.
Speaking to the official site, he said, “I definitely feel like an important player and my teammates let me know every day.
“I try to prove that I am an important player every day and game after game. I believe we have the players and the quality to win many things.
“I feel really happy and comfortable at the club. I want to give the fans a new title. We always get our fans’ support in the thin and the thick, which is great.
“We must win the Premier League or the Champions League for them.”
The Gunners sit 9 points behind leaders Chelsea and could go into tomorrow’s game against Palace 12 back if the leaders win their game at home to Stoke today.
With Sam Allardyce likely to defend deep, Arsenal will need Alexis at his best to find a way through.
Love this guy. We can only take him on face value and he’s saying all the right things and playing with full commitment…. please, please sign it you little champion!!

We absolutely can compete. I would like to see Arsene be more flexible and not use the 4-2-3-1 all the time though. Maybe a 4-3-3 in games we play without Ozil.
The fact that people are more focused on the upcoming match rather than the transfer window opening says it all really.
Unless we can sign somebody of Ozil/Sanchez level can’t really see how we can improve

I doubt OX has any knowledge of their contracts. I think he just picked a picture of what he thinks partly represents Arsenal. I think it’s more him saying “I’m not going anywhere” than anything else
That’s really really nice to see from Alexis. He always stays out of all the media side of things which is good when compared to a blabber mouth like Theo but when he does speak it’s all the more nice to hear. I feared that he’s disillusioned with the team and its competitiveness. It’s good to hear a bit of a rallying cry from our best player. Let’s hope we win things and tie him down on a good contract soon!
The teams are required to do media talks, and Theo is frequently asked to because he is composed and well spoken. He frequently speaks with few revelations because that is exactly what the club wants to avoid showboating and controversy in the media. He’s doing his job well and I don’t understand what the point of criticizing him is.
All us here, on the other hand, are spouting our opinions when nobody asked for them. That’s fine of course. it’s entertaining.

Chelsea are on a strong run. We need to just do our own thing and keep up. City dropped today so we have opportunity to slowly claw back closer to Liverpool first. Its still a long way to go. Well that sets it. He’s got the ambition in the right place, and at the right club. I’d be boosted by another big signing this year – if only to announce to Alexis, Ozil and everyone else that The Arsenal are serious about being contenders!
