Chambers picks up stress fracture at Boro

On-loan Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is set to be out of action for a number of weeks after picking up a stress fracture of his foot.

The 22 year old has been drawn praise from Boro manager Aitor Karanka for his performances this season, so to miss him will be a blow for the Teesiders.

“It’s a stress fracture in his foot,” said Karanka. “I don’t know how long he will be out because sometimes you think it’s going to be one or two weeks and maybe it’s three or four.

“I don’t know. At the moment, he’s trying to be fit as soon as possible.”

Last month, the former Real Madrid man said of the Arsenal man, “He has a lot of good things.

“He is good with the ball, he’s strong in the air, sometimes he may look as if he’s not aggressive or strong, but he is really strong and he’s using that experience to play.”

“I’ve no doubt that he can play at Arsenal. For me, he’s a really good central defender.”

Could be one week. Or two. Or three. Or four. That sounds so Arsenal

New guy

Arsenal through and through!

Bendtner's Ego

Wow.

Look at the size of Troy Deeney’s head!

Edus Braces

I don’t mean to be rude but Troy Deeney looks like Elvis right at the end.

Get well soon Calum, quality ball for their goal last week.

badaab

Troy deeney looks like ET with a nose and hair.

Goon Army

Karanka seems like a great guy

Arun

Anyone with the slightest bit of a good relationship with Moaninho the cunt, I loathe.

So this applies to Karanka big time.He learnt his trade from that pr*ck, but still half-baked I believe.

Arun

Damn, before I edited that word. My bad.

Cliff Bastin

Nice to have so many solid centre backs who can also play right back.

Evang. Femi

I don’t know how long he will be out because sometimes you think it’s going to be one or two weeks and maybe it’s three or four. It sound so familiar… That is the Arsenal ringtone

North Bank Gooner

Shame, he has been getting some valuable experience. I have been impressed with his consistency, Middlesborough have only conceded 25, only 5 teams have better numbers.

Get well soon Callum!

Tough break for Chambers (no pun intended). It been great to see him get heaps of game time at the Premier League level. Would love to see Holding loaned out and get the same opportunity to develop. Better than him sitting on the bench match after match.

Jim wall

Pity he got injured ,hes a honest lad. Himself and holding will go on and be arsenals CB pairing ,! Looking at that prick mourrino last night ,hes a laughing stock , I have gave wenger some stick lately ,but at least his players and ex players respect him so much…

ChrisGoona

That performance by United last night was one of the worst I have seen.

No energy from the manager or players, no effort (apart from first 15 mins of 2nd half), shocking passing, shocking control of the ball… I would be extremely worried if I was a United fan.

Kostafi's mustache

We’ve gone from very light in the central defense position to very talented and array of choices. The problem now is how to get enough playing time.
Koscielny, mustafi, Mertesacker, Holding, chambers, Gabriel. Not a bad one in that group.

Lula da Gilberto

Looks good at Boro. But he also looks like it is his level. I hope not I think he’s got a lot of skill for a centre back but when compared to Holding, i know who’d I rather have and I think that’s probably telling.
