Arsenal are still open to letting Carl Jenkinson leave the club but Arsene Wenger admits it’s unlikely the right-back will secure a permanent move before the January transfer window closes tomorrow evening.
The Gunners accepted a £7 million offer from Crystal Palace earlier this month, however, the England international is believed to rejected the personal terms tabled.
“There is no news on him at all,” Wenger told his pre-Watford press conference on Monday morning.
“We are still open because we have many players in this position, but at the moment it doesn’t look like something will happen.”
He later added: “For us no [the Palace move is not dead]. For him? I don’t know.
The boss also confirmed that Sam Allardyce had tabled an offer to take the player permanently, having previously signed him twice on loan at West Ham United.
If Jenkinson doesn’t move, the boss also made clear that it would not be a problem despite him falling down the pecking order on the right of defence.
“He’s integrated into the squad. We respect any professional decision.
“Carl Jenkinson is a great player who has a great attitude, there’s no problem on that front. After that he must find happiness with his conditions and where he goes he should feel comfortable.”
The boss also confirmed that Mathieu Debuchy is fully fit and available for transfer, but that no offers had been received for the France international.

I’d love Carl to stay, get his confidence up and be the reserve right back. Let’s hope he can.
Yes I was of that opinion too. But, now I kind of wish he leaves and cements first place at another club. He may be reserve behind Bellerin, but at any other above average club in the Premier League, he deserves to be playing in the first team week in and week out. I would like him to play in the first team of a PL team not fighting for relegation survival. A team like West Ham or Everton or Leicester. I don’t know what’s the right back situation in those teams though
Since Debuchy, despite his being a whiny twat, is a very good right back, I believe he would strengthen practically any PL team. For that reason, I want him sold to a team in France. We do NOT want to go strengthening our rivals!
I’d love that too but it really doesn’t look as if Wenger is prepared to give him another chance. If there is something I dislike about Arsene’s personality it’s that he’s often far from honest when speaking to the media. I get that there are good reasons for that, but it’s also frustrating to fans who can’t rely on his word. I always felt jenko did well for AFC when he arrived from.Charlton . For somebody young coming from the lower league … He was (is) still learning his role . Then came his injuries , debuchy came in , looked comfortable. Jenko went on loan & hector stepped in to take his chance debuchy got injured . Now since he’s back fit and playing at arsenal after a serious injury he needs games & time. I would still rather send jenko on loan , get his confidence up again . I don’t think anyone doubts the quality of Jack or Ramsey or Ox, they just have not found consistency in form or health. Chambers looks like a maybe at center back still. And I really believe that Theo has put any doubts to rest this season.

I think jenky should stay and stay a member of this squad. He is interested in this squad and has been for some time. Summer is something else.
He should leave. Will never ever be good enough even as a squad player. But wen they are paid handsomely it makes his decision easier to reject lesser pay offers

Inconceivable that no club has inquired about Debuchy.
Unless, assuming that is true for sake of argument, teams are well aware of his wage demands from his attempts to secure a move last year. I’m struggling to explain it another way.
