Four to the floor as Eddie grabs goals for England

Eddie Nketiah added to his blossoming reputation by scoring four goals for England in a European Championships U19 qualifier yesterday.

The Arsenal man shot to prominence a couple of weeks ago, scoring twice in the Carabao Cup game against Norwich, and in a side that featured fellow Gunners Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock, he struck four times in the 6-0 win over the Faroe Islands.

You can see the goals below (via r/gunners).

Goal 4

It was the opening game in England’s qualifying group, and the emphatic win means they top the table at this early stage.

Although the senior team has struggled, there does seem to be something interesting happening at underage level, and it’s good to see some young Arsenal men making an impact.

Eddie will now probably be the subject of another tedious Mirror Football ‘story’ which will collect Tweets from Arsenal fans suggesting we play him against Sp*rs or something.

Take a bow.

Me So Hornsey

From all the goals I’ve seen, he’s seems to have that inate ability to know where to be in the penalty box. Very Wrighty like. I’m really hoping he develops into a top level poacher.

Andy Mack

He does have that ability, which he showed in our pre-season games where he struck the post twice, even though he didn’t get as much playing time as Nelson etc.

Lord Bendnter

Eddie and Lacazette up front!

carlosthegooner

Swifty

Hi Carlosthegooner. I’m a journalist from the daily mirror, can I please reproduce your post for our online comic. We’ll give you fuck all other than stick your name under it?… Zzzzzzzzzzzz

It’s the worst when you see headlines like ‘Piers Morgan said this about an Arsenal player’ or ‘Arsenal fans want this player to leave their club’
Anyway, it’s good to see England youth do well

Anonymarse

Anything involving Piers Morgan is the worst

Isaiah Rankin

Not true.

Faroe islands – tough oppo with their population of 49,117. Taking away women and men too old and young there must be about 500 lads to choose from of all shapes and sizes.

Hope he does well in the next matches too.

Eli

True. Im from the Faroe Islands. Your youth teams aint that bad, but had a bad day against England yesterday.

Andy Mack

As we’re endlessly told, you can only beat what’s put in front of you.

Copelandão

Plus any lads of Faroese descent of course. Those them emigrated too…

PeteyB

I like how he keeps going off to celebrate with the fans in the corner!

Anonymarse

Shouldn’t that be fan

IndieGooner

Seems he can’t control it at the first one goes in ?

Dinobot
