Reiss Nelson scored his second Bundesliga goal in just his third appearance for Hoffenheim, but it wasn’t enough to stop Julian Nagelsmann’s side losing 2-1 to Frankfurt at home this afternoon.
The 18-year-old came off the bench on the hour mark with his side 2-0 down, and scored what ended up being the consolation in the 81st minute with a prodded finish into the top corner.
Both Nelson’s Bundesliga goals have come off the bench, and with Hoffenheim sitting in 13th after a poor start to the season, it’s surely only a matter of time before Nelson becomes a regular starter.
Another day, another young England player scores in the Bundesliga! ?

Nelson’s performances have earned him a call-up to England’s under-21 squad, and he’ll be looking to make his first appearances at that level against Andorra and Scotland in the upcoming Interlull.
Given Gareth Southgate has called up Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, another English teenager in the Bundesliga, perhaps a senior international call-up could come Nelson’s way before the end of the season.
Very tasty
Sure could have done with him as an option from the right side.
Come Jan, if we are forced to sell on Ramsey, we need to provide for Rwing.
Cristian Pavon (Boca) rumoured on the target list…although I would believe it when it happens as it won’t be cheap.
But the sort of player who can provide the technical skill and pace out right so we do not have to rely on Bellerin as much.
Will still leave room for Nelson since if Ramsey is gone, both Ozil and Mhki will function more behind the striker (both having similar function)
Sometimes I just failed to understand how this kind of news can lead to transfer gossips.
Mate, you should be impressed its only 5 sentences. Usually he writes a thesis on the state of the Arsenal squad before then having a dig at Elneny.

I was watching the match. It was a very good individual-effort goal. Their team were playing well in the first half and were unlucky to be on the losing side.
Based on what I’ve seen so far (following Bundesliga regularly) and on the Germans being future oriented and focused primarily on their on benefits, I am afraid Hoffenheim coach won’t be playing Nelson as much as it would have if he were their player. Reiss is, by far, the most skilled and talented attacking player in Hoffenheim squad and probably the quickest. But he is not playing or at least getting picked for starting eleven because I am afraid the Nagelsman uses him exclusively as a ‘last resort’. I hope I am wrong but based on what I’ve seen so… Read more »
Is he not just back from injury?
No one celebrated the goal with him, great teammates.
