Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang spoke to BT Sport after our 3-1 win over Valencia in the Europa League semi-final first leg this evening.

This is what the striker had to say.
How massive was the third goal?
Hopefully it’ll be important. We started not so good, but we had a good reaction after that and today we played very well.
Was it lack of confidence or nerves that led to the poor start?
Yes, I think so. We started a bit nervous, because we lost the last three games. I think that’s normal, we are human! But as I said, after that we had a good reaction.
There’s a good understanding between you, Ozil and Laca. Will that creativity help you?
Yeah, we have a lot of quality in the group. We can go to the final but we know the next game is going to be difficult. But if we can use the same ingredients there we will of course go through.
How much will is there to make the final this year?
It’s our target to reach the final and win this trophy because it’s an opportunity to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Last year we stopped at the semi-finals, now we learned a lot, this year hopefully we won’t make the same errors.
Brighton on Sunday? Last home game.
We have to give the fans a win, that’s normal. We know it’s tough, the Premier League is very tight for 3rd and 4th place, so we’ll give everything to reach the qualification for Champions League.
I was thinking about our team tonight and the players who will and won’t be here next season. It struck me that we don’t have any players that could get pinched by bigger clubs. Chelsea have Hazard and Kante usually gets a rumour or two. United will have to work hard to keep Pogba and Rashford. De Gea is usually rumoured too. Sp*rs will struggle to keep most of their star men. But I can’t see a bigger club coming in for any of our boys like days of yore. And while that’s relieving in some ways, it’s also a… Read more »

We have to win this competition. COYG!!!
If we take 6/6 I fancy us for 4th, I just don’t particularly fancy us to win our remaining 2 PL games, hopefully we can gain some momentum from here and somehow stumble over the line.
If we make the Final? There’s 17 days between Burnley+ Europa final.
I’m not mathematician but that’s 27 days away…. Rambo pulled his hamstring 14 days ago, just how hard has he fu*ked it?
Would be great if we could get him back for it
He’s done all he could… and Juventus would have told him when their pre-season starts and to take it easy from now on.
No one comes to our home
Torreira, Laca, Auba and Koscielny must be kept fit for the EL only from this point onwards. It’s too risky to play them in PL now when we need them fresh and delivering, especially with Ramsey out of the remaining games.
No burning ourselves out for the Prem now, focus on EL and we go from there.
If we take 6/6 I think we’ll do it, but I certainly wouldn’t put money on us.
Chelsea home to Watford isn’t exactly a banker, and neither is Leicester away, Chelsea’s form following Europa league this season isn’t great, we could end up pipping them on goal scored…
Top 4 race certainly isn’t over.
United should get 6/6 Cardiff+Huddersfield, with no distractions.
The way Spurs are playing, they look knackered, if they lost their remains 2 PL games? I wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised.
Football Cliché questions.
Back to 3 Cbacks. Still systemic issue defending set pieces (their goal) albeit that fellow was rather awkward to defend against in terms of his height. Nervous start to the match (Both sides) Misplaced passes every way. Lacazette’s off ball work superb and he looked like he was trying to lead the team through this. Could have scored 2 more goals got his hat trick and a bit. In the end, excellent cross from Kolasinac (who was poor with passes all game) to find Auba. Precious third goal for us. Still not done and dusted (since its us) but mostly… Read more »
