Arsenal Women goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin has revealed that she contracted COVID-19 earlier this month. The French stopper said she experienced symptoms shortly after returning from international duty in France a fortnight ago.
In an interview on Lyon player Elodie Thomas’ Instagram account, Pauline, who lives with teammate Louise Quinn, revealed the news, “All the doctors told me that I had contracted Covid-19. I have had a lot of symptoms related to this virus: fever, cold, constant headache, respiratory issues, severe fatigue and loss of taste and smell. I checked a lot of boxes.”
Peyraud-Magnin suggests she is on the mend and urged people to follow Government guidelines on social distancing, “Thank you, to all the medical staff, to the emergency services, for their assistance. My father is a firefighter, my sister is a nurse. For all those people who come to the front for us, please stay home.”
Arsenal are currently not training in any case, with no date set for a return to Colney.
