Arsenal U23s continued their disappointing start to the season with a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Friday and matters were made worse for Steve Bould’s side when Jonathan Dinzeyi had to be substituted due to an injury.
Dinzeyi, who joined the club this summer following his departure from Tottenham, has featured prominently in recent weeks and if he is out for an extended period of time it would leave Arsenal further depleted at centre-back.
The likes of Harry Clarke, Mark McGuinness, Daniel Ballard and Zech Medley have all been loaned out, and, although William Saliba has featured for the U23s on several occasions, there haven’t been many alternative options, with U18 players such as Alex Kirk and Levi Laing having to step in.
Thankfully, Bould will have one more option at his disposal from next week, with Joseph Olowu set to return from his loan spell at Cork City.
Olowu gained his first experience of senior football in Ireland, although he wasn’t able to prevent Cork from being relegated to the second tier.
However, his return is a major boost for Arsenal as he possesses a considerable amount of experience at U23 level and he could help in terms of helping to guide some of his younger team-mates through games.

Congratulations to him on moving to a bigger club.
And he is eligible for both premier League and Europa league, with all the injuries he has every chance of making the bench against molde.
