This afternoon Arsenal confirmed that fans will make their long-awaited return to the Emirates for the Rapid Vienna game.
With national Covid-19 restrictions being replaced by a tiered system from Tuesday, 2,000 supporters will be allowed to watch matches in N5 while London remains in Tier 2.
If infection rates decrease over the coming weeks, the capacity could be doubled to 4,000 supporters. Conversely, if they get worse and London is put under the harshest restrictions games then matches could be played behind closed doors again.
Busy, busy, busy. Probably a little too far to say it’s literally make or break but the performance of the team (squad more accurately) over this run of games will undoubtedly be a big influence on what the rest of the season holds for us. Hmmm.
So many games close together! Any wonder players are always out injured? The league should go to 5 subs per game. Maybe less injuries and opens up the game to more tactical opportunities.
Totally agree, the PL is the only top flight in the world that is stuck at three subs per match.
At least with the win in Norway today there’s no so much congestino with the first XI. I expect it’ll be pretty much the U23s and academy who play the remaining group stage matches.
Looks like our next EL Arteta will get his wish of playing in front of fans!
This is just mental. 2 days rest in between games for a month… Not even 11 subs would help here.
Unless we get our sh*t together quick this looks like it might be an xmas to forget :-/
