Alex Lacazette spoke to BT Sport after tonight’s 4-1 win over Rapid Vienna. Here’s what he had to say.
On a dominant performance …
It was amazing. We were so happy to see the fans today, they really helped us during the game, even in some bad moments they helped us to play good.
But obviously we played really well today, everyone made the effort to come back. We had two players come back from injury – Calum and Pablo – and we’re really happy for them.
So it was good night.
Being back on the scoresheet and hearing the fans celebrate …
It was really nice when the fans were behind us. The last couple of weeks were not easy for me, but to see the fans behind me and the team is really nice, so I really enjoyed it. Thanks to them tonight.
On working his way back into the starting XI for the Premier League …
Tonight we wanted to enjoy and make it a fifth win in a row [in Europe]. We did it, and now we have to focus for the derby on the weekend. We just need to rest and see what the coach decides on Sunday.
Awesome strike to get back to goalscoring form.
Timely for the weekend.
Bring on the Spuds.
He scored a cracking one against Spurs too. He should start this weekend.
Sheer class! I trust you’ll continue on that verve. Hope he starts ahead of Willock on Sunday.
Laca played like a 28 year old tonight.
Cracking goal from him!
I remember United dropping Rooney in a bit when his legs went. Might just prolong his Arsenal career a little…
Especially the one with The board…
That was Ozil
Laca The Best
