Henderson linked with Charlton move

Arseblog News understands (sorry, but we do) that Conor Henderson could join Charlton Athletic on loan next season.

The Republic of Ireland youngster suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in pre-season last summer, just as he was beginning to feature at the fringes of the first team squad.

Such a dent in his development means that a loan for the upcoming season makes sense and newly promoted Charlton will provide him with Championship football.

Henderson spoke towards the end of last season about his willingness to go on loan, saying, “I have a lot of friends out on loan at the moment and they have all said it’s a good experience. Playing men’s football and having to win games is what it’s all about, but I’d love to get into the manager’s plans here.

“I see myself as a central midfielder but I am comfortable on the left or the right – anywhere to get into this Arsenal team.”

Whether it’s the kind of loan to prove to Arsene Wenger that he’s got what it takes or to give him a platform to find a career elsewhere remains to be seen, but good luck to him either way.

Poor RvP, if he’d gone to Charlton last season they would’ve matched his trophy ambition with the League 1 title.

A very affable chap. Wish him all the best. Wenger clearly thinks highly of him.

Good lad.

sau

wait till he gets good then he’ll say he doesn’t agree with the direction of the club.. 😛

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Oh wait, wrong article.

JustAnotherGuy

Good luck to the lad! Hope he has a fruitful loan.

George

Nice to see the normal world of Arsenal still trundles on. I’ve spent all summer hoping for van persie news instead of stuff about fringe players, but now I’ve got my wish all I want is to hear about normal club goings on. COYG!

Bestie

I do rate this lad. Cracking left foot on him, just hope he has recovered fully from his injury and it doesn’t wreck his career.

Nick

Lots of promise to Conor. Hopefully he will have a productive, beneficial and injury free loan to Charlton! All the best luck and keep up the great attitude!

“anywhere to get into this Arsenal team” <– More of this please!!!

big black clock

Sigh guys, I really can’t bring myself to hate RVP. I really can’t. I’ve been idolizing the man for the past year and a half and now I’m just having this bad heartache for the past 2 days. Torn between anger and overwhelming disappointment. I wonder if anyone out there feels like me.

Mr. G

…not really. He isn’t exactly Henry/Bergkamp/Pires/Vieira.

On topic, best of luck to Henderson out on loan at Charlton. He looks to be quite a promising prospect, and it will be interesting to see how he fares.

Midfield Corporal

We can tell ourselves he’s not in their category to make us feel better, but we all know he is. That volley he hit whilst 6ft off the ground against Charlton is one of my favourite ever goals.

THEREISBEARCUM

I don’t really see the problem. He signed a contract, fulfilled that contract, didn’t bollock anyone about with any “Oh, I’m gonna stay, no wait I’m gonna go, waah, gimme more money nonsense” – he said straight up, “I had a chat with the boss, we couldn’t agree so that’s that”, and now he’s moving on. Best of British to him.

orion

Except he hasn’t fulfilled the contract. He has a year remaining. This is his bitchy way of trying to force a transfer without technically handing in a transfer request. If he’s truly not concerned about the money, and only worried about the direction of the club, he would have gladly forfeited the loyalty bonus.

Hudson Hornet

Absolutely agree,

These attacks on RVP make me laugh. He didnt make us sweat like Cesc, nor did he threaten us every year like Henry or Vieira yet they are Gods.

Good luck to Robin whatever he does.

austrian_gunner

yeah, i feel actually absolutely the same way…
was really dissapointed yesterday and still, but i’m also full of optimism regarding the upcoming season, because now we’ve dealt early with this situation.
btw nice name 🙂

Trevor

Anybody else hearing these Lloris rumours?

Nick

Hearing but not believing. I doubt Wenger will pay the asking price they! They want ~16-17 million for him.

jim jimminy

credit for this goes to my brother, and apologies if you have already seen it. Its also not related to this article but…
Robin van Purse-ie….?

Merlin's Panini

yeh, thought of that one earlier, Lining My Pursie.

Brandon

I think a lot of us invented that one independently of each other. Its very easy one to come up with, but that just shows how good it is.

Persie out, arsenal lives

The robin van PUSSY one cracked me up so bad, I forgot he was a cunt.

Such a shame he did his knee in pre season last year. Still, he’s a good prospect and he’s young enough to still makes something of himself. A loan deal this season and maybe he can break through next.
